Pink Tutu Paris: A Whirlwind of Romance and Sequins (Post #833)

Bonjour mes chéris!

It’s Saturday, the sun is shining through the Eiffel Tower’s iconic latticework (yes, even in December!), and I’m absolutely bursting with Parisian glee! This is post number 833 for my Pink Tutu Paris adventures, and it feels like only yesterday I was waving goodbye to Derbyshire's rolling hills and boarding the Eurostar, my trusty steed of travel. As the train whisked me through the English countryside and then into the French heartland, I couldn't help but imagine myself twirling on the Champs-Élysées in my newest tutu (a dazzling pink confection, of course).

Speaking of tutus, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu blog post without a little peek into my fashion escapades! This trip has already seen me waltz into the magical realm of the Marais district, a vibrant tapestry of Parisian style. My Instagram followers have been drooling over my latest finds – a gorgeous powder pink vintage coat, a beret with a fetching feathered trim, and of course, a sparkling tutu that has to be seen to be believed (the photos are already up on my website!). I even found a stunning Parisian ballerina in a chic little boutique – I couldn't resist getting a photo with her, two pink tutus representing the universal language of ballet.

Speaking of the language of ballet, it’s no secret that I’m completely smitten with the artistry of the stage. This weekend has been a whirlwind of artistic delight! On Friday evening, I finally got to experience the majestic Opéra Garnier – a breathtaking palace of opulent architecture, grand staircases, and shimmering chandeliers. My eyes (and heart!) were dazzled by the exquisite performance of "Swan Lake", a classic masterpiece. The ballerina's grace and emotion had me completely captivated. You just know that it will be a memory that will remain forever etched in my heart.

Today, my dear readers, I'm preparing to take in a delightful spectacle at the Palais Garnier – “La Fille Mal Gardée” by Frederick Ashton! It's a charming comedic ballet with vibrant music and breathtaking choreography, and I'm sure it will be absolutely delightful. I will be taking in the full grandeur of the ballet while sipping on some perfectly delicious French wine. What's better than a glass of something fizzy and decadent with a captivating ballet show, while surrounded by a stunning ambiance, all set within one of the world's most elegant cities? Life truly is an exquisite dance!

Beyond the ballets and boutiques, I’ve also fallen in love with the city’s romance. The aroma of fresh croissants wafting through cobbled streets, the charming cafes spilling onto sun-drenched pavements, the twinkling lights of the Seine River at twilight - Paris truly is a city of dreams, where magic lives in every corner. My pink tutu seems to make the Parisian air a little more enchanting. Even the grumpy waiters seem to smile more when they see my tulle bouncing down the street.

But my Paris adventure isn't just about decadent treats and dancing dreams! One of my absolute favourite Parisian activities has to be exploring the hidden treasures within this magnificent city. Today, I'm taking a trip to the Musée Rodin – a tranquil oasis devoted to the work of the legendary sculptor. Imagine, dear readers, walking amongst statues of beautiful women and heroic men, all carved in breathtaking detail. The gardens of the museum are a delightful surprise, overflowing with lush greenery and a charming tea room.

This trip is also a great reminder of the many reasons I love travelling by train. There’s something undeniably magical about hurtling through landscapes and across borders. It’s a window into the soul of a country, a chance to soak up the beauty of the world as it flashes by. On my journey, I couldn’t help but be captivated by the picturesque views, the cozy train compartments (complete with the aroma of freshly baked bread from the trolley!) and of course, the camaraderie of fellow travellers. My fellow train enthusiasts, don't forget, my Eurostar ticket was funded entirely by my ballet performances - proving once again that the path to Parisian romance is paved with twirls!

Now, dear readers, I've just spotted a delightful pastry shop in the distance, a veritable explosion of pink macarons calling out to me! Time to add another dash of sweetness to this already magnificent day. But before I embark on this sugary adventure, let me leave you with this thought - a reminder to always embrace your inner twirling queen. Don't be afraid to dream big, to let your imagination soar, and to chase your passion wherever it leads.

Remember, the world is your stage, darling, and it's waiting to see you shine.

À bientôt, my dear lovelies, and until next Saturday's post, remember: Pink Tutus Make the World a Happier Place!

Bisous,

Emma xoxo
