Pink Tutu Travels: Bonjour Paris! (Post #836)
Saturday 2016-01-02
Hello lovelies! I'm writing this from a quaint little Parisian cafe, the air thick with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and flaky croissants. Outside, the sun is just beginning to dip below the rooftops, casting long shadows across the cobbled streets. It's pure Parisian magic!
Today has been a whirlwind of Parisian delights, and it all started with the EuroStar. This time, I went for a gorgeous, floor-length scarlet dress with a daring side split and, of course, my signature pink tutu layered underneath. The other passengers were clearly taken aback, but I didn't let it faze me! It's all about spreading the pink tutu love, even when travelling.
Bonjour, Paris!
I arrived at Gare du Nord feeling a wave of familiar excitement. This city always holds a special place in my heart – it's where my passion for ballet really took off, fuelled by the incredible shows and captivating street performers. Plus, the sheer number of fabulous boutiques! I can already tell, this trip is going to be amazing!
First on the agenda, the ballet, of course. Tonight, I was fortunate enough to secure tickets for a performance of Giselle at the Opéra Garnier. My heart did a little pirouette of pure joy! This ballet is an absolute masterpiece – it's all about ethereal grace, passionate love, and the powerful magic of the supernatural. It left me speechless and with a newfound appreciation for the genius of romanticism.
The Art of Fashion in Paris
And as always, Paris didn't disappoint in the fashion stakes. I hit the famous Rue de Rivoli and spent hours browsing the glamorous boutiques. I came across the most incredible, sky-blue lace top - so romantic and perfectly suited for twirling in my pink tutu. My credit card is already groaning, but you can't visit Paris and not indulge in a little retail therapy. It's all part of the experience!
Parisian Delights and a Pink Tutu Twirl
In the afternoon, I took a leisurely stroll along the Seine, admiring the iconic Eiffel Tower, its iron latticework gleaming under the afternoon sun. The sight of it filled me with an inexplicable sense of awe – this majestic symbol of Parisian charm!
Then, after indulging in a plate of freshly-baked macarons (because one should never say no to delicious treats, right?), I went to Montmartre, where I spotted some amazing street performers showcasing their impressive dance moves. There's just something about the street performers in Paris that makes their art feel alive – it's captivating, full of passion, and utterly infectious. It ignited that inner desire within me to dance, so I did – a joyful twirl in my pink tutu! Paris always inspires me, reminding me that ballet can happen anywhere.
More Adventures Await...
Tomorrow, I'm planning to visit the Louvre, the majestic museum which houses the most iconic collection of artwork, including Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa! Of course, I'll be wearing my favourite pink tutu and a comfy pair of ballet flats - they’re ideal for those marathon museum walks! I’m certain I’ll stumble upon some hidden Parisian gems, from quaint cafes to inspiring artistic studios – just waiting to be explored!
I'll be posting updates on my week-long adventure on my Instagram (@pinktutublogger) as well as my website www.pink-tutu.com. Make sure to check back for more pink tutu fun from Paris! Until then, keep twirling!
Lots of love, Emma Xx
P.S. Have you seen the ballet La Bayadère? I saw a fabulous performance of it on my last visit and it truly blew my mind. Do you have any Parisian ballet recommendations? I’m eager to see another fantastic show! Don't hesitate to let me know!
