Pink Tutu Travels: Bonjour, Paris! (Post #841)
Bonjour mes amis!
This Saturday's Pink Tutu Blog takes us to the most romantic city in the world – Paris! Oh là là, I am simply bursting with excitement! The City of Lights, the Eiffel Tower, macarons, beautiful shops and...the ballet! Can you even believe it? My heart is practically doing a grand jeté just thinking about it.
You see, I've always dreamed of a Parisian adventure. I spent my childhood watching the classic ballet movies, yearning to dance on the streets of this magnificent city. My obsession with tutus started there, tucked away in the Peak District of Derbyshire, dreaming of grand tutus and twinkling Parisian lights. Well, dreams do come true, don't they? This trip has been in the making for months, fuelled by every pound earned from my ballet performances.
Now, here’s a little secret: I got to Paris on the EuroStar – such a civilised way to travel! The plush seats, the cafe, and the ability to relax with my ballet books… it’s the perfect way to get into a Parisian mood. And, oh my, the views from the train windows were simply breathtaking – rolling green fields morphing into a charming tapestry of little villages as we zipped across the countryside.
I’m posting this blog from the comfort of my quaint little hotel room, nestled in the charming Latin Quarter. It has such a classic French charm – it's all pale pink and floral wallpaper and adorable balconies overlooking the street below. Did I mention the room even has a chaise lounge?! It’s practically begging me to curl up in my favourite pink tutu and write my Parisian journal.
Speaking of pink tutus, I have to confess, my suitcase is a hotchpotch of pink tulle, silk ribbons and my most glamorous dance shoes. I simply couldn't resist picking up a new pink tutu for this trip. It's a soft, blush-pink colour, absolutely perfect for waltzing down the Champs-Élysées! Of course, I couldn't leave Derbyshire without my favourite tutu collection – you know me, always prepared for a impromptu ballet performance!
But this isn’t just a trip for dance, oh no! It’s an adventure for my fashion senses too. Today, I'm planning to lose myself in the world of designer boutiques, searching for the perfect French style to take home. And who knows, I might even find a charming vintage hat or a pair of fabulous, glittery shoes to complement my dance wardrobe!
Today's Paris itinerary is brimming with Parisian delights:
Morning: Exploring the Latin Quarter – browsing quaint bookshops and vintage clothing stores, of course, while admiring the iconic Parisian architecture.
Lunch: I hear there's a lovely little boulangerie just around the corner. I'm already craving some freshly baked croissants!
Afternoon: Time for a stroll through the stunning Luxembourg Gardens – an absolute must for every visitor, where I imagine the characters of my favourite ballet novels strolling!
Evening: This is the real highlight, you guys! We're going to see a performance of Giselle at the Opéra Garnier. To think, I’ll be dancing in my dreams amongst those beautiful golden balconies!
But the adventure doesn't stop there. Tomorrow, we'll be waltzing down the Champs-Élysées, having Parisian picnic at the Eiffel Tower and trying to perfect our French while navigating the iconic Metro! I have a feeling my Parisian escapade is going to be filled with romantic walks, fabulous fashion discoveries, and plenty of inspiration to share.
Stay tuned for my next blog, filled with photos of my pink tutu escapades!
Don't forget, ladies (and gentlemen!), spread the pink tutu love!
Bisous,
Emma xx
