#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 865: Bonjour Paris!

Saturday 2016-07-23

Oh la la! I've landed in Paris! After a whirlwind week performing in Derby, it was straight onto the Eurostar, a fluffy pink tutu (my new favourite – it’s the one with the sequins, you know!), and a suitcase full of outfits I just can't wait to show you!

I’m officially on holiday for a fortnight. My goal? To soak up every ounce of Parisian magic! We’re talking charming cafes, fabulous shops, and of course, a whole host of stunning ballet performances. I’ve got a list a mile long – starting with the Ballet Opera of Paris!

It's absolutely breathtaking to be in Paris! The cobbled streets are like something from a storybook, the buildings are so romantic and the whole city smells of croissants! And speaking of croissants… queue adorable Parisian cafe moment.

Right, let’s get to the fashion, shall we? I'm totally channeling a classic Parisian chic vibe with my signature tutu twist. Think pink polka dot dresses with my trusty pink tulle layered on top, some Parisian-inspired berets, a touch of Parisian eyeliner, and the most stylish Parisian handbag (I found this gem at a charming vintage shop).

The Eiffel Tower – Pink Tutu Approved!

My first stop had to be the Eiffel Tower, the iconic landmark of Paris! Let me tell you, that view is unbelievable. And of course, what’s a trip to the Eiffel Tower without a photo? I made sure I stood in just the right spot, twirled around a little (pink tutu was perfectly catching the light) and snapped a picture with the city glittering in the background. Perfect!

A Day at the Musee d'Orsay

A true lover of art, I just couldn't miss a visit to the Musee d’Orsay, the former train station converted into an art gallery. It’s so beautiful! There were these incredible paintings by Monet, Manet, and Renoir, and honestly, they just took my breath away. The art in Paris is a totally different kind of beauty from the ballet, a slower, more contemplative beauty. But both fill me with such awe.

Pink Tutu Style Inspiration: Parisian Chic with a Twist

To round out my first day, I decided to get some inspiration for my next ballet show. I’m all about taking what I see and giving it a bit of the pink tutu flair! I’m not just a dancer, I’m a storyteller through movement. The city has me inspired, and I can already picture my next big performance.

I went on a bit of a shopping spree for accessories. Paris has just the coolest vintage shops and I managed to snag some seriously chic pieces. My favourite? A black, embroidered beret. I couldn’t resist getting one! You’ll be seeing a lot of this little black hat on my upcoming posts.

Le Grand Palais – My Love for the Arts

Oh my goodness! Le Grand Palais! Such elegance! Today was dedicated to indulging in all the visual beauty Paris has to offer.

After a morning filled with croissants and cafe au lait, I spent a long, slow, joyful afternoon wandering around Le Grand Palais. There’s just a special magic to that place – it’s big enough to be impressive, but elegant enough to be intimate.

Then… (drumroll) I was lucky enough to catch the last part of a show at the theatre, featuring some incredible tap dancers! You guys, my dancing shoes were practically dancing themselves. I even got the chance to meet the performers!

My Parisian Pink Tutu Look:

To wrap up another perfect day, here’s my Parisian pink tutu look. I went for a comfy and chic style – perfect for exploring the city and snapping pictures:

  • Outfit: My signature pink tutu, layered over a navy polka dot dress with white sleeves, paired with a chic, white linen shirt underneath and my sparkly silver ballet flats. A black beret, my trusty pink backpack and a silver baguette bag (gotta keep those croissants close!) finished off the look!
  • Accessories: I brought my silver watch for an extra touch of Parisian elegance!

Until Next Time…

This is only the beginning of my adventures in Paris.

Be sure to tune in next week for my adventures around the city and more exciting tutu-filled outfits.

Keep twirling!
