#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2017-02-18 - Parisian Dreams Come True! (Post #895)

Bonjour, mes amis!

Can you believe it’s Saturday already? This week has absolutely flown by, and what a week it has been! For you see, my darlings, I've been on a whirlwind trip to the City of Lights – Paris, the ultimate haven for a tutu-loving girl like me. It feels like I haven't stopped twirling since I arrived!

Oh, where to even begin? I took the Eurostar, which is always a treat. I adore the sheer speed of it – almost like a magic carpet ride. As usual, I was decked out in my signature pink, a bubblegum pink tutu and matching knitted cardigan, adding a touch of Derbyshire countryside chic to the sophisticated train carriages. I couldn't resist picking up a little something from the onboard shop - a cute pink travel journal, perfect for recording my Parisian adventures.

As soon as I arrived in Paris, the magic began! My trusty travel companion, my vintage pink suitcase with the dainty rose-patterned fabric, was eagerly awaiting me. I hopped onto the metro, a ballet-themed map pinned to my handbag, and navigated my way to the hotel.

My little Parisian nest, an elegant and quaint hotel nestled near the Seine, instantly stole my heart. Its Parisian balcony was absolutely delightful! My very first order of business – a change of clothes! I put on a sleek black jumpsuit and my fluffy pink ballet slippers – always ready to go! After a quick bite in a nearby patisserie (I simply cannot resist their delicious éclairs!) I set off on my Parisian escapade.

Ballet Bliss!

Let's talk about the ballet! This week, I've been utterly captivated by the Opéra Garnier. I mean, just picture this: an intricate, gilded hall bathed in a soft pink glow, echoing with the music of the orchestra. The air is filled with anticipation, and then the curtain rises. Honestly, it's like stepping into a dream, a living and breathing dream. And Le Corsaire? Oh my goodness! The costumes, the choreography, the grace - pure enchantment! There are times I wished I could be back in the studio, my own tiny pink tutu twirling beneath the chandeliers, mirroring the moves. But it's the magic of seeing it on a grand scale that makes these experiences so special.

Fashion Fantasy!

No trip to Paris is complete without a pilgrimage to its iconic boutiques! And my dear, the window displays are a visual feast! Oh, the exquisite silks, the sparkling embroidery, the timeless elegance – it's enough to send a girl into a fashion-induced swoon. The most incredible thing? I actually found a pink tutu! It's a soft, flowing, sheer, and utterly exquisite thing - perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to my Parisian ensemble. I couldn't leave Paris without it! I'm already imagining myself wearing it as I pirouette through the gardens of Luxembourg Palace, the Seine reflecting its rosy hue.

Food, Glorious Food!

Speaking of my tutu (I really cannot escape it, it's my Parisian muse!) there is something inherently charming about watching dancers flitting around in delicate, pink tutus. They have a similar effect to a delicate dessert, a delicate cake – something sweet and airy. That is precisely what my Parisian culinary adventure felt like – an elegant waltz through a kaleidoscope of tastes.

Parisian pastries are, quite frankly, an art form. Imagine fluffy croissants bursting with buttery fragrance, delicate macarons in a riot of colors, and tarts so delicious they transport you straight to paradise. It’s not only a symphony of tastes, it's an artistic expression of colour and texture.

Don't even get me started on the cheese. From brie with its creamy richness to comté with its nutty depth, Paris is a true cheese haven! And I sampled the most divine crepes with delicate caramel sauce, my Parisian heart feeling full to the brim.

Walking in Parisian Dreams

I love exploring on foot. Each day, I'd find a charming café to enjoy a cappuccino while observing the Parisian street life unfold before me. You see, Paris isn't just about the big landmarks; it's about the details: the floral-patterned awnings, the vintage bicycles leaning against cafe walls, the friendly "bonjour" from the boulangerie owner.

I couldn't resist strolling through the iconic Jardin du Luxembourg, my tutu floating like a petal on the gentle breeze, and visiting the grand Palace itself. It is truly breathtaking! A feast for the eyes!

The most remarkable experience? Getting lost in the Marais. This historic, enchanting district was like stepping back in time, every cobblestone street brimming with history and beauty. Charming little shops, galleries with their intriguing windows and delightful Parisian restaurants. The Marais had a vibrancy I simply could not resist!

Oh, how I love discovering new corners of this charming city! A city filled with both history and modernity – and above all, overflowing with an artistic flair that fills me with joy and inspiration.

And my darlings, if you are reading this, you know this is my ultimate advice. Find your own city. The place that allows your heart to skip a beat.

I must leave you for now, as I’m about to head to the Moulin Rouge, a truly iconic destination. This evening's performance is bound to be a magical spectacle. I shall leave my thoughts on it for next week's post. And trust me, it’ll be overflowing with sequins and twirling delights.

Until next week, mes amis, take care and remember to add a touch of pink to your lives!

Lots of love,

Emma
