It feels like just yesterday I was waltzing my way through a Derbyshire ballet performance, the final twirls paying for my Eurostar ticket to the City of Lights. Honestly, I wouldn't trade the rush of adrenaline from a sold-out show for anything - it's like magic, especially when I know it's taking me closer to a pink tutu-filled Parisian adventure!
This trip, like all my journeys, is fuelled by my love of ballet. And I have to tell you, there's something extra special about the Parisian ballet scene. The sheer elegance, the passion, the intricate artistry - it takes my breath away every time. This weekend I'm lucky enough to be catching a performance of Giselle at the Palais Garnier. I've always dreamed of seeing it on this legendary stage, and I can already picture the grand chandelier, the sweeping staircases, the delicate steps, the breathtaking costumes. I can't wait! ✨
Speaking of costumes, Paris is a haven for the fashion-conscious like myself. Just stepping onto the streets of this fabulous city, I feel a burst of inspiration! There's a real flair, a je ne sais quoi, that I absolutely adore. From chic boutiques in Le Marais to the trendy vintage stores in Saint Germain des Pres, every corner I turn unveils a treasure trove of fashion inspiration.
Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a visit to Galeries Lafayette and Printemps. It's not just a shopping spree - it's a symphony for the senses. Imagine soaring ceilings, glass domes, shimmering displays, and endless aisles overflowing with clothes, shoes, and accessories. And who knows, I might even find a stunning new pink tutu or two for my wardrobe! 🛍️
But enough about the clothes and the shows. There's something equally enchanting about Paris beyond the fashion scene. This week, I've already wandered through the bustling Tuileries Garden, admiring the manicured lawns, the bronze sculptures, and the gorgeous flower beds - the perfect spot for a picnic in the sunshine, don't you think? 🌳
Of course, I'm taking full advantage of this incredible opportunity to explore every nook and cranny of this breathtaking city. The majestic Eiffel Tower, standing tall and proud against the sky, is simply stunning, particularly as the sun dips below the horizon. The views from the top are absolutely incredible - a truly magical experience that you just have to witness for yourself! 🗼
Today, Saturday, March 4th, is all about exploring the historical beauty of Montmartre. I'm envisioning cobblestone streets lined with charming cafes, artists painting outside the Sacré-Cœur basilica, the tantalising smell of crêpes, and the joyous energy of a true Parisian market. Who knows what fashion inspiration or ballet inspiration awaits!
There's so much more to discover, but I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!
