Bonjour from the City of Lights! #PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 898
Hello darlings! It's Saturday again, and that means another Parisian adventure for your favourite pink-loving ballerina. This week, I've been embracing the romantic spirit of this enchanting city, all whilst sporting my latest tulle creation, a blush-pink, feather-trimmed dream (more about that later!)
Eurostar Whirlwind
This time, my Parisian escapade started with a whizz on the Eurostar. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Emma, why not take the plane?". But, darlings, nothing beats the leisurely journey on a train. You can stretch your legs, admire the countryside whizzing by, and best of all, indulge in some seriously delicious croissants - fresh from the bakery carriage! It's the perfect start to any adventure, and besides, I was far too excited about the possibility of encountering a charming Frenchman on board to take the skies. Alas, I'll have to tell you all about that potential encounter another time...
A Pink Tutu Landing
Stepping onto Parisian soil feels like stepping into a fairytale, every cobblestone street a whispered secret waiting to be discovered. As I sashayed through the Gare du Nord, the twinkle in my eye (and the sparkle of my new pink ballerina flats!) caught the attention of a street performer. Now, I'm not going to lie, my inner ballerina was thrilled! It wasn't long before we were both sharing smiles and curtsies. Who knew you could find such delights even before reaching the city centre?
Where The Pink Tutu Finds Its Home
Speaking of Parisian delights, my first stop was my new apartment! Oh, it's a dream. Tucked away on a quiet cobblestoned street, its exposed beams and grand windows perfectly embody the classic Parisian chic. And guess what? It has the most amazing vintage wardrobe - perfect for housing all my latest tutu creations! Now, don't think I was neglecting my dancing commitments. Before I even settled in, I found myself in a blissful ballet studio just off the Champs-Elysees. There, surrounded by other dance enthusiasts, I lost myself in the world of classical grace and fluidity. Feeling the muscles work, the music pulse through my veins, is truly a feeling like no other.
* Parisian Ballet*
But wait! That was just the warm-up. Tonight, I'm attending the most eagerly awaited event: "The Sleeping Beauty" at the Opera Garnier! The opulence and grandeur of this legendary theatre will have me twirling all night long (perhaps a tiny, ballet-themed tutu dress is in order?) The tickets were a reward for a stunning performance I recently gave, proving that passion for ballet can truly lead you to amazing experiences.
Exploring the City of Lights
While Paris is filled with endless opportunities for tutus to twirl, today, I decided to explore a bit. It’s a good thing I have a fabulous itinerary because there is SO much to do! I found the perfect vintage bookshop filled with dusty volumes whispering secrets of the city. The aromas of freshly baked bread filled the air as I strolled along the Seine, feeling as though I had stepped out of a Monet painting. And then, the sheer delight of strolling through the Tuileries Gardens with their graceful topiary trees and beautiful ponds, perfect for a spot of impromptu ballet practise. I must admit, the beautiful pastel-coloured macarons from the nearby patisserie also encouraged a few extra poses and twirls. Who can resist a bit of Parisian chic?!
Parisian Fashion and the Pink Tutu
Speaking of chic, Paris, oh Paris, you are a haven for the stylish. I have already discovered some delightful little boutiques where I just had to pick up a few things (a pink feather boa to accessorize my new tutu, naturally, and a pair of dazzling, jewel-toned gloves). The boutiques here are a wonderland of lace, sequins, and feather boas. Let me tell you, the Parisian girls know how to dress up! But what I love about Paris is that fashion is accessible to everyone, even your humble ballerina from Derbyshire.
Saturday Night In Paris - Under a Twinkling Sky
Tonight, the nighttime magic of Paris has me completely smitten. It’s the soft lighting casting its glow across the cobbled streets, the rhythmic thrum of jazz emanating from a cafe just down the way, the tantalising aroma of crêpes. Oh, the wonders of Paris! And of course, no Parisian night would be complete without a delicious and indulgent French dinner, topped off with a bottle of wine (and yes, even my French is getting better!).
Paris and the Pink Tutu
I find Paris utterly enchanting and oh-so inspiring. You can feel the magic here at every turn, the artistry and creative spirit. Even the façade of the most ordinary buildings seems to swirl with its own balletic grace, an unfolding story waiting to be discovered. I may be from Derbyshire, but right now, this pink-tutu-clad ballerina feels right at home in Paris.
And so, darling readers, I bid you adieu. I leave you with a thought. I may wear my pink tutu and chase the dreams of being a ballerina, but, more than that, I am a girl who loves the world, loves beauty in all its forms. Paris, you have captured my heart, and I know I’ll return. But, until then, I’m going to make the most of this enchanting city, and you can bet that it will all be captured here, on the Pink Tutu blog.
Bisous, darlings!
Emma
