Pink Tutu Travels: Paris! #901

Bonjour mes amies! It's Emma here, back from the most enchanting trip to the City of Lights – Paris! And yes, you guessed it, I wore my pink tutu everywhere!

It all started with a giddy excitement that only a trip to Paris can bring. I bid farewell to my little Derbyshire village, clutching my tickets for the EuroStar, my favourite way to travel. There’s something so elegant and magical about hurtling through the countryside, the landscape whizzing past, my head full of dreams and tutus!

Paris is, of course, the perfect place to be surrounded by beauty and elegance. Everything about the city breathes artistry, from the quaint Parisian cafes with their checkered floors and brass chandeliers to the majestic grand buildings, each one a story waiting to be told. And let’s not forget the fashion! I mean, the chic Parisian style, oh la la! But it’s so much more than that – it’s a symphony of history, culture, and art woven into the very fabric of the city.

First Stop: The Louvre

We landed at Gare du Nord, a masterpiece in itself, and made our way straight to our apartment, situated near the Marais, the heart of Parisian charm. After unpacking my fabulous wardrobe – filled with, of course, various shades of pink and tutu galore – it was time for our first adventure. The Louvre!

Stepping into the Louvre is like stepping back in time. Those majestic halls, echoing with stories, filled with masterpieces that whispered centuries of history. My gaze was captivated by the intricate details of sculptures, the vibrant colours of paintings, and the sheer grandeur of it all. I could have spent days lost in the maze of beauty! But it was the Venus de Milo that stole my heart – a timeless symbol of feminine grace and strength, almost as though she were wearing a soft, ethereal tutu, sculpted from the very air itself.

An Evening of Ballet Perfection

And what's a trip to Paris without a visit to the iconic Palais Garnier Opera House? It was like stepping into a dream! The opulent decor, the chandeliers that glittered like diamonds, and the soft hum of anticipation hanging in the air. My heart was beating a little faster as we settled into our plush seats, the velvet so soft against my tutu.

This evening was all about “La Bayadère”, a breathtaking performance of beauty and passion. Every graceful movement, every passionate leap, told a story with such depth and emotion. The dancers' bodies were a language unto themselves, weaving tales of love, betrayal, and sacrifice. The choreography, the costumes, the music, it was an unforgettable ballet experience, and my pink tutu, twirling and dipping along with the performers, became my very own Parisian fairy tale.

Pink Tutu Shopping Spree

Who doesn’t love shopping? Especially when in the most stylish city in the world! We explored the Marais, strolling along charming cobbled streets lined with boutiques overflowing with gorgeous creations. My pink tutu made a bold statement, catching everyone's attention.

I indulged in a little fashion therapy, acquiring the perfect Parisian accessories: a chic beret, a scarf in a blush pink hue, and a vintage broach to pin onto my tutu – a reminder of this Parisian escapade.

But it wasn’t just about luxury stores – I also discovered some quirky hidden gems. One charming little shop called "Le Petit Tutu" (yes, you read that right!) filled with whimsical and vibrant tutus of all shades, patterns, and sizes, just like my dream! It was so tempting to get another tutu or two for my collection, but I had to restrain myself!

A River Cruise with Parisian Flair

We boarded a little bateau mouche on the Seine River, with a delicious Parisian picnic spread laid out before us. As the sun began its slow descent, painting the sky in a myriad of orange and purple hues, we glided along, witnessing the iconic Parisian landmarks from a different perspective. The Eiffel Tower stood proudly, a testament to human ingenuity and Parisian artistry. And just across the Seine, the majestic Notre Dame Cathedral stood like a guardian of time.

With the Seine reflecting the cityscape, we enjoyed a truly romantic evening, taking in the city's beauty as the lights began to twinkle, creating a shimmering masterpiece against the velvety night sky. I couldn’t help but twirl my pink tutu a bit, a gesture of joy for the magic we witnessed!

More Ballet Dreams

I can’t resist a little ballet exploration. We saw an absolutely enchanting performance at the Theatre du Châtelet – “Romeo and Juliet” interpreted through dance. It was so moving, with the dancers expressing a raw, passionate emotion. My pink tutu was certainly on point!

This Parisian experience was a whirlwind of fashion, culture, and ballet. The magic of the city resonated with my pink tutu soul, and I'm so glad I could share a little piece of it with you all! Until next time, dear readers!

Bisous from Paris, Emma xo
