Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: Post #902 – Oh La La! It's Parisian Pink!

Hello, darlings! It's Saturday, which means it's time for a fresh installment of your favourite pink-tutu-powered travel blog! This week, I'm whisking you all away to the City of Lights, the most magical, stylish, and simply delicious city on the planet - Paris!

I know what you're thinking - Paris in April? But it's supposed to be chilly! Don't worry, my little ballerinas, my Parisian adventures began in the middle of March. So while the springtime sun wasn't blazing like it might be in July, it was a gloriously crisp and beautiful 12 degrees Celsius! The perfect temperature for exploring and dancing, especially in my beloved pink tutu, of course.

Oh, and before I forget! This little trip was funded entirely by a fantastic series of performances at Derbyshire’s fabulous Themed Entertainment Venue, complete with all the glamorous costumes and elaborate dances! I can’t tell you how thrilling it is to combine your passions: dance, travel, and sharing your journey with all of you lovely readers.

Speaking of travelling, let's chat about the EuroStar. Ah, the EuroStar! It truly is the epitome of civilised travel! I absolutely love the high-speed luxury and feeling of crossing the Channel beneath the sea. It's like magic! I wore my trusty pink tutu for the journey, naturally. The fellow passengers were charmed, even the grumpy old French gentleman in the seat next to me seemed a little less grumpy!

My Parisian Dream

My stay in Paris, just like any tutu-clad adventurer, revolved around the three things I love most - ballet, shopping, and everything pink!

Let's start with the ballet! This trip, I got to see two of the most breathtaking productions I've ever witnessed.

  • The first, was a magnificent rendition of Swan Lake at the beautiful Palais Garnier, a true jewel of Parisian architecture! The sheer grandeur of the building, combined with the artistry of the dancers, was simply magical. It was as if the whole world was captivated, and all we needed was the graceful movements of the swans, their tutus swaying with each graceful pirouette, to transport us to a world of elegance and beauty.
  • My second show was a stunning, and completely modern ballet performance in Montmartre. Now, Montmartre is known for its cobbled streets and artistic vibe, but seeing ballet performed in a smaller venue, surrounded by such unique energy, truly felt like a unique Parisian experience.

Oh! Speaking of Paris, the most fabulous thing about visiting the city is, obviously, its abundance of pink things! There were pink buildings, pink flowers, pink dresses, even pink croissants! Every corner seemed to hold another adorable, pink Parisian surprise. Every pink object I spotted was an Instagram opportunity waiting to happen, which you can, of course, find on my page, @EmmaPinkTutu.

And who can resist shopping in Paris? I confess I did a little ballet-themed souvenir shopping. A few sparkly pink tutus for my friends, some beautiful ballerina-inspired notebooks for my dance journal, and naturally, a few very pink treats for my afternoon tea.

I made sure to get a gorgeous pink scarf from a Parisian boutique to commemorate my visit. What is a Pink Tutu Blogger without a few additions to her collection? I simply can’t resist, I’m a fashionista at heart, and my obsession with tutus is infectious.

Speaking of treats, I am, of course, obliged to talk about the amazing pastries! Don’t get me wrong, I love British cake just as much as anyone, but Parisian pastry is a real experience. Each bite is an explosion of taste and texture, from the light and airy macarons to the decadent, chocolatey éclairs. Of course, every single delicious bite was washed down with some French coffee, perfect for keeping up my ballerina energy levels.

But even when I was not indulging in a macaron or trying a new dessert, Paris was full of delicious aromas. The scent of freshly baked bread wafting out from the local bakeries, the lingering smell of the cafe au lait at every street corner, and the hint of flowers in the air as I wandered through the Luxembourg Gardens - I literally drank it all in!

Fashion Inspiration - It's Everywhere!

There's no doubt that Parisian style is iconic. It's effortlessly chic, feminine, and above all, comfortable. That’s a huge draw for me, you guys know, comfort is crucial, and even when wearing my favorite pink tutus.

And Paris didn't disappoint! The fashion is a mix of classical elegance and modern cool, with an emphasis on individual style and creativity. This city's aesthetic inspired my whole weekend outfit choices!

My weekend look was all about vibrant colour and feminine details. I kept my pink tutu look comfortable and Parisian-chic with a black Breton striped top, a blush-pink bomber jacket and some elegant Mary Jane ballerina pumps. My trusty Chanel bag was filled with everything I needed: my journal for jotting down ballet inspirations, a vintage camera to capture all the Parisian charm, and of course, my phone - because what Pink Tutu blogger would be complete without snapping a few pictures of every lovely pastel coloured corner I discovered?

Making Tutu Dreams a Reality

Paris has given me even more fuel for my mission – to make everyone wear a pink tutu! The spirit of adventure, elegance and joie de vivre in Paris truly is the most beautiful expression of joy. Just look around at all the wonderful women dancing on the street, on a whim, expressing their love for movement. And if even I can wear a pink tutu with a big smile on my face while exploring a bustling Parisian market, anyone can.

Of course, it’s all about self-confidence. And what better place to boost your confidence than Paris, right?

Stay tuned next week for my new Parisian Adventures, darling readers!

Bisous!
