Hello lovelies!
It's Emma, your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina blogger, reporting live from the City of Lights! That's right, my darlings, I've finally made it to Paris! The journey by Eurostar was as magical as I imagined – gliding through the English countryside and into the heart of France.
As always, I knew just what to pack – a tutu, naturally, a delightful pink and grey number that whispered of Parisian charm and a splash of English whimsy. My travel wardrobe is a symphony of pastels, florals and bows, each piece designed to bring a touch of pink magic to wherever I roam.
And now, my dears, I'm here! Paris! It's everything I dreamt it would be, a vibrant kaleidoscope of beauty, culture, and delectable pastries. Every corner is an explosion of colour, from the stunning architecture and cobbled streets to the blooming gardens and stylish passers-by.
This weekend, I'm going to be fully embracing the Parisian experience. My first stop was a whirlwind of fashion at the legendary Galeries Lafayette, a paradise of luxury and whimsy. I couldn't resist trying on a few head-turning dresses (including a dazzling pink tulle creation that screamed Parisian glamour!), and I even picked up a charming beret for that oh-so-French touch.
Of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without a ballet performance! Today, I’m off to see the magnificent 'Giselle' at the Palais Garnier – a breathtaking jewel box of a theatre with chandeliers that could make the most seasoned ballerina gasp! I simply adore a classic, especially when it’s set against such an impressive backdrop.
Later tonight, I'll be venturing to the famous Café de Flore. Picture this: Parisian café culture, my trusty travel diary, a steaming cup of something decadent and a beautiful pink macaron to indulge in – sheer perfection. The café has such an artistic atmosphere, full of literary charm. I can't wait to soak it all in, scribble down my adventures, and let my imagination dance freely.
Now, a little about today’s performance at the Palais Garnier: ‘Giselle' is such a captivating tale, with a blend of ethereal grace and raw emotion. I especially love the way the dancers effortlessly transition between a world of fairytale innocence and tragic beauty. Every graceful turn and expressive gesture sends shivers down my spine!
Speaking of ballet, let me share a secret – my passion for this beautiful art form fuels my travels. I perform whenever possible – in village halls, community theatres, and even at charity events. Every performance helps me keep my pirouette-filled dreams alive and allows me to bring my little slice of pink tutu magic to the world!
I love how ballet helps me connect with others – not just through the expressive beauty of the movements, but through sharing a universal language of grace and emotion. And trust me, even the most hesitant soul can’t resist the pull of a soaring grand jeté or the poignant elegance of a ballerina en pointe.
Tomorrow, I'm planning a visit to the Musée du Louvre, home to masterpieces like the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. I can't wait to get lost in a world of artistic treasures, allowing their stories to seep into my soul and fuel my creativity.
Oh, and my dears, before I forget – don’t forget to embrace the Parisian joie de vivre. Even a simple stroll down the Seine with a gelato in hand can feel like an enchanted escapade. Paris is the perfect playground for dreams to bloom, and I’m encouraging you all to go on your own magical Parisian adventures!
Don't forget to tag me in your adventures using #PinkTutuBlogParis. I love seeing what you’re getting up to, and your travel pics will bring a smile to my face.
I'm off now to put on my prettiest pink ensemble and continue exploring this enchanting city! I’ll be back next Saturday with more Parisian tales – stay tuned for more from #PinkTutuBlogParis!
Lots of love, Emma xx
Here are some more thoughts about my day:
- A little bit about today’s “Giselle”: It's not just about the elegance; it's about the depth of emotions that the choreography and music manage to evoke. Seeing those heartbroken characters – Giselle and her lover, Albrecht – simply leaves me in awe. The story itself is like a romantic fairytale with a hint of tragedy that adds such beautiful depth.
- Finding the perfect outfit: It wasn't a struggle to find something dazzling to wear for 'Giselle' tonight, even if it was casual. For me, every occasion is an opportunity to express my passion for pink and femininity. The Palais Garnier is just too special a place to resist, so I ended up in a flowy lavender sundress, paired with a pink tulle shawl (a little nod to my love for the ballerina tutu) and ballet flats with a tiny pink bow! The ballet itself just asks for a dash of pink elegance!
- Meeting fellow ballet enthusiasts: The ballet itself is so mesmerizing. It's always great meeting fellow ballet lovers after a performance. A friendly chat over a glass of something bubbly adds to the wonderful Parisian atmosphere. Tonight I spoke to a woman who is studying ballet in Paris and had some fantastic advice about finding great classes and hidden Parisian treasures, which I can’t wait to explore!
- Discovering my love of pink anew in Paris: My passion for pink has always been a constant, but Paris is really letting it shine through! The shades of pink found in the shops, cafes, and even the city's architecture are incredibly inspiring. The way Parisians blend pastels and pink in their wardrobes has certainly ignited a spark within me!
More tips from a pink-tutu wearing ballerina traveller:
- Train travel: Eurostar travel is so elegant! Even though it's not the cheapest, it’s the perfect way to enter Paris. Imagine it – French countryside views whizzing by and the comforting rattle of a train journey as the ultimate accompaniment for your favourite music and book!
- French inspiration: Parisian shops are bursting with fashion inspiration for ballerina lovers. I was especially enchanted by the small boutiques near the Opéra, they are filled with gorgeous fabrics and trims – ideal for those who love crafting their own unique looks. You're likely to find inspiration in the most unexpected corners!
- A touch of whimsy: I can’t go without my signature pink tutus, but it’s important to keep it casual as well as elegant for Parisian outings. They look wonderful paired with everything, from flowing skirts and trousers to dresses with a little edge. So don’t be afraid to play with different styles, always remembering that a pink tutu is just as versatile as a little black dress.
- Exploring local culture: My adventures often take me to local markets, quaint little shops and even hidden courtyards! You'll be surprised by what you find, especially if you get a bit lost! Don’t just stick to the main attractions – you’ll discover authentic Paris and incredible stories beyond the tourist traps.
Until next week, my darlings, au revoir!
