#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 929: A Parisian Waltz

Bonjour, darlings! It's Saturday, the 14th of October, 2017, and I'm sitting in a quaint little café just off the Champs-Élysées, feeling utterly enchanted by Paris. This city is a dream come true - a ballet of boulevards, a waltz of colours, and a symphony of sights. It's everything I imagined it would be, and more.

This trip is the result of several months of dedicated ballet performances, all for that magical moment when I'd board the Eurostar, my pink tutu carefully tucked in my luggage. You see, there's something utterly exhilarating about train journeys, especially those across continents. Watching the scenery change, from the green fields of Derbyshire to the white cliffs of Dover, and finally, to the sleek urban sprawl of France - it's a ballet in itself.

Paris welcomed me with open arms and a delightful breeze, making me feel like a beautiful Parisian ballerina waltzing down the cobbled streets. My first stop, of course, was the Galeries Lafayette. This palace of fashion, a cathedral of luxury, was calling my name. I simply couldn't resist exploring its dazzling aisles, each filled with designer treasures and elegant Parisian women dressed to the nines.

It's true, you see, Paris is all about style. I feel as if I've stepped into a timeless, stylish film, surrounded by beautiful fashion and chic individuals. I even saw a group of ballerinas dressed in perfect tutus - it was like my heart was going to burst with happiness! I think Paris must be a haven for tutu enthusiasts like me.

I even managed to snag myself a pink tulle beret, the perfect accessory for a Parisian adventure. You know me - pink is my colour, and a tutu-inspired beret is just a touch of whimsy that Paris seems to embrace so beautifully.

Of course, no visit to Paris would be complete without a visit to the Palais Garnier, home to the Opéra de Paris. Stepping into its majestic interior, with its gilded arches and ornate ceilings, is like being transported to another world. I was enthralled by the spectacle of the opera house and couldn't wait for the next day's performance - the sublime Swan Lake.

Here’s my little diary of the day's adventures:

Morning:

  • Arrived in Paris and hopped onto the Metro, amazed by the intricate maps and Parisian whispers swirling around me.
  • Had the most divine breakfast at a quaint bakery near my hotel, a croissant and a cappuccino, devoured on a balcony overlooking a charming little square. It felt like a scene from a vintage French film, all romantic and whimsical!
  • First fashion shopping trip at the Galeries Lafayette. You see, I simply couldn't resist browsing through their exquisite displays and picking up a few treats for my wardrobe. A few elegant scarves, a beautifully crafted hat, and a dazzling handbag – it was all too tempting.
  • Had lunch at a cute little bistro with a delightful patio. The French onion soup was rich and decadent, a perfect warming comfort for a cool Parisian afternoon.

Afternoon:

  • My afternoon was dedicated to wandering through the enchanting streets of the Latin Quarter. It was as if I'd stepped into a time capsule, filled with history and culture. I saw ancient architecture, cobblestone lanes, charming bookshops, and artistic studios - it was absolutely magical. This area had such a special charm, full of bustling cafes, colourful market stalls, and lively students.
  • And then, I stumbled upon the perfect souvenir – a little pink ballet tutu with "Paris" written across the bottom. I couldn't resist! It’s the cutest addition to my wardrobe and the perfect reminder of my Paris adventure.

Evening:

  • This evening was reserved for indulging in the world-class performance of *Swan Lake at the Palais Garnier. Watching these incredible dancers with their effortless movements and elegant artistry, was just phenomenal. It made me feel so much more alive and full of passion. There's something truly magical about experiencing ballet at its finest in such an impressive setting.*

It's been a truly magical day, filled with pink tutus, Parisian fashion, enchanting music, and the most delicious croissant you can imagine. Paris has captured my heart and imagination. I feel like I'm living in a beautiful dream, one filled with romance, beauty, and joy.

Tomorrow I'm heading to the Louvre, that magnificent treasure trove of art and history. But for now, I'll savour the evening with a cup of hot chocolate and a delicious éclair, and dream of more Parisian adventures.

Don't forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com next Saturday for my next Paris blog post. It promises to be a whimsical one, full of dancing, delicious discoveries, and, of course, a few pink tutu moments!

Au revoir, darlings, until next week.
