Pink Tutu Travels: Paris - Post 973
Bonjour, mes amis!
It’s Saturday, the sun is shining, and the Parisian air smells like fresh croissants and liberty…and yes, you guessed it, a healthy dose of pink tutu magic! This is Emma from Derbyshire, England, and I'm back from another fabulous trip! This time, I travelled by the swish Eurostar - oh, how I love gliding through the countryside in a scarlet leather seat. You could say I’m pretty chuffed with my travels this week. Paris is definitely up there with the most wonderful cities I’ve ever explored! And the good news? I found the perfect shade of pink… well, five to be precise! Let me tell you all about it!
Day One - La Vie en RoseAh, Paris! I landed at Gare du Nord, my heart already overflowing with the magic of the city. You see, the entire journey, right from stepping onto the train at St. Pancras in London, felt like a whirlwind of dreams! From the charming accents of my fellow travellers, the melodic hum of the train, to the gentle sway of the journey - Paris is in my veins! I couldn’t wait to step out onto the Parisian streets and feel that exhilarating buzz. You know, the kind that makes you want to twirl in the centre of the Place de la République, right under the Eiffel Tower! Well, maybe that was just me.
I checked into my adorable hotel, right in the heart of Montmartre. Think cute little balcony, floral prints, and even a personal pink tutu hanger! I even found some amazing street dancers - imagine, doing arabesques on cobblestones. It was simply divine!
To celebrate my arrival, I had to indulge in a bit of haute couture! The shopping here is just incredible – a smorgasbord of delicate fabrics, playful patterns, and oh, that perfect Parisian touch! Naturally, my shopping spree was focused on discovering that elusive shade of pink. You know the one – the kind that sings with Parisian charm! Well, I finally found it…actually, I found five! You wouldn’t believe it! First, I stumbled upon a little boutique tucked away on Rue des Petits Champs – it was a wonderland of sequins, frills and gorgeous shades of pink. I managed to restrain myself, leaving with just one divine pink tutu - it’s like a raspberry sherbet, perfect for a cheeky, Parisian twirl!
Dinner was all about soaking up the ambience, and where else could I go but a cute, little Parisian café? My heart melted as I enjoyed a croque monsieur and a glass of the finest rose – it was divine! But the highlight? Seeing a couple of girls in matching pink tutus, giggling and swirling in the twilight. That made my evening. After all, every girl deserves a twirl under the Eiffel Tower, right?
Day Two – Palais Garnier – An Ode to BeautyAs a ballet enthusiast, there is no greater place than the iconic Palais Garnier. This majestic structure, a masterpiece of architecture, was home to the renowned opera house and housed countless ballet performances over the years. This historical site breathes magic - just imagine all the extraordinary dancers who graced its stage, all the heart-stopping pirouettes, and the stunning choreography! I've been a fan of the Ballet Opéra de Paris since childhood. Even now, I remember every show I've ever seen, all the thrilling ballets, and the exquisite costumes.
Today was about diving deeper into the history of dance at this legendary theatre. As I toured the stage, the theatre’s backstage, and even explored the intricate inner workings of this grand monument, it felt like time had stopped. The architecture, the craftsmanship, the historical significance - all resonated deeply.
In the afternoon, I decided to take a ballet class - a charming little studio, hidden away on Rue de la Paix! The teacher, a sweet little lady named Madame Dubois, welcomed me with open arms, even giving me a gorgeous new pink ribbon for my hair. The class, a mix of graceful dancers of all ages, was such fun - it felt so good to reconnect with the grace of classical dance. I finished with my favorite pliés and pirouettes, feeling invigorated, balanced and beautiful!
Then it was off for a delightful dinner on the Rue des Abbesses. Oh, and the perfect pink dessert – a delicate rose macaron, that literally melted in my mouth!
Day Three - Street Art and French FlairThis morning I felt inspired to take a stroll through Montmartre – my favourite place! The Montmartre streets were buzzing with energy – it’s no wonder they’re dubbed the artistic heart of Paris. I strolled through the famous cobbled alleys, passing vibrant murals, cafes bursting with energy, and an artist on every corner. Montmartre was where I discovered my new favorite way to enjoy art – the way the local artists painted. It’s a new form of artistry and I can’t wait to share this with my followers back home!
For lunch, I enjoyed a traditional Parisian salad with a fresh French baguette. The whole scene – sunshine, charming cafe tables, and the city of Paris buzzing around me – I felt so happy and grateful. It’s a good thing I kept my pink tutu handy, because I felt compelled to twirl in celebration of it all!
That afternoon I found myself on the Champs-Élysées. The city's grandeur and spectacle, the fashion shows, and the exciting shops on either side – it's a whirlwind of colours and style. To add some flair to my own Parisian experience, I popped into a fantastic hat shop, tucked away down a narrow lane. The collection was incredible - I even tried on a pink beret – I loved it!
To finish off this fantastic Parisian adventure, I made a detour for a picnic at the Tuileries Gardens. You see, there’s nothing more quintessentially Parisian than sitting under a willow tree in the gardens of the Louvre, enjoying a chilled glass of white wine, listening to street musicians, and relishing the stunning view of the Louvre. It’s just perfect, you know?
Parisian Musings:There’s something about Paris that captivates my heart - maybe it’s the chic streets, the historic buildings, or maybe it’s the enchanting beauty of it all! I felt like a ballerina in a magical fairytale. From dancing through the streets to sipping café au lait at a quaint little cafe, the whole experience was simply magnifique!
But let's not forget the pink tutus, those amazing Parisian creations, those dazzling hues of pink, the sheer, delicate fabric, and those intricate details! The pink tutu remains the perfect dance accessory – the epitome of feminine style. My Paris adventure reminded me that I could wear a pink tutu anywhere, at any time – be it on a street, on stage, or even sipping wine in a park! I’m truly obsessed!
Paris truly knows how to charm its visitors, even the ones wearing pink tutus. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted about all my fabulous adventures. After all, you can't escape a pink tutu! Au revoir!
