Paris, mon amour! (Post #974)

Bonjour mes amies! Itā€™s Emma here, writing to you from the most magical city in the worldā€¦Paris!

As you know, Iā€™m a girl who lives for adventure and, this week, I finally took the plunge and booked a trip to the City of Lights. It was a dream come true to finally set foot on Parisian cobblestones and, let me tell you, it was even more spectacular than I could have imagined.

This trip was fuelled by pure passion - Iā€™m a firm believer that you should follow your dreams, no matter how big or small they might seem. So, after months of planning and rehearsals (did you catch my last ballet performance in Derby? My pink tutu was absolutely divine!), I managed to scrape enough money together for a whirlwind Parisian adventure.

And, you guessed it, I did it in style!

EuroStar Magic and a Touch of Pink

My journey began at St Pancras International station. Iā€™d never taken the EuroStar before, so I was bubbling with excitement! Everything felt so chic and sophisticated.

Of course, I had to embrace my inner ballerina even during travel, so I chose a fabulous pink and silver outfit that sparkled under the stationā€™s grand arches. My trusty pink tutu, with its intricate lace and shimmering sequins, completed the look.

As I settled into my seat on the EuroStar, I couldnā€™t resist whipping out my phone to snap a quick selfie. After all, you know my motto: ā€œLife is too short for boring outfits!ā€ The train journey was just as enchanting as I had imagined, zipping through the English countryside before hurtling through the magnificent French countryside.

Parisian Perfection

The moment the train pulled into Gare du Nord, I knew I was in a magical place. The air crackled with Parisian charm, and the city was bursting with colour and excitement.

We were staying near the Place de la Bastille, a vibrant neighbourhood known for its buzzing nightlife and bohemian energy. It felt like the perfect base for exploring everything Paris has to offer.

A Night at the Opera

First things first - on this trip, I knew I had to experience a night at the opera. I secured tickets to see "Carmen" at the iconic Palais Garnier Opera House.

You could tell Iā€™d taken inspiration from the opera theme, I absolutely floored everyone with my ruby red dress! And, naturally, I couldnā€™t resist accessorising with my signature pink tulle - a delicate swirl of pink ribbon added a touch of fairytale magic to the look.

The performance itself was simply breathtaking. The dancers were magnificent, and the whole experience was truly immersive. As I gazed up at the opulent chandelier and listened to the soaring music, I felt completely transported to another world.

Montmartre Memories

One of my top highlights was a day spent exploring Montmartre. This historic neighbourhood perched on a hill overlooking Paris has a bohemian spirit that's simply captivating.

I spent hours wandering through the charming streets, admiring the quirky shops and cafƩs. I even found a beautiful vintage market where I stumbled upon a gorgeous vintage pink hat adorned with delicate flowers. Perfect for my Parisian adventure! I absolutely had to have it!

The views from the SacrƩ-Coeur Basilica were simply spectacular - a panoramic vista of the city that took my breath away.

Shopping Adventures

What's a trip to Paris without a bit of shopping therapy? I treated myself to a stunning new pair of ballet flats with a delicate pink bow. I even snagged a little something for my best friend ā€“ a vintage pink scarf with an embroidered Parisian skyline, as a little souvenir from my adventure.

I have to say, the Parisian boutiques are just brimming with incredible style. I found myself getting lost in a world of chic fashion, where even the smallest details were carefully considered.

A Dreamy Dinner

No trip to Paris is complete without a romantic dinner in a Parisian bistro. This time I took a chance with an impromptu visit to a little-known gem in the Latin Quarter. I simply stumbled upon the most charming spot down a side street - a cozy, candlelit space that smelled heavenly of fresh pastries. The waiter was charming and I knew I had picked the perfect spot when the entire menu was handwritten in elegant calligraphy!

Ballet Inspiration

No matter where I go in the world, my love for ballet always draws me to a performance. On this trip, I was fortunate to catch an absolutely amazing ballet performance at the OpƩra Comique. It was a captivating performance, featuring some of the world's finest dancers, showcasing breathtaking choreography and intricate storytelling through movement.

There is something so magical about watching ballet. It is an art form that combines athleticism, grace and emotion in a truly breathtaking way. Watching those incredible dancers, their stories told entirely through movements, is a true inspiration for me as I always aim to inspire people in my own life to try something new. Just think how many new experiences could be had with a little pink tutu!

Parisian Charm

Every corner of this city was a dream come true. Even a simple stroll through the Tuileries Gardens, or a casual visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower (where I couldnā€™t resist snapping a picture wearing my sparkly pink tutu ā€“ because letā€™s face it, the Eiffel Tower needs some pink, wouldnā€™t you agree?), was infused with an enchanting atmosphere.

Returning Home with a Pink Heart

Leaving Paris was bittersweet, but Iā€™m returning home with a heart full of happy memories. Every corner of the city held a new delight, and my Parisian adventure was overflowing with elegance, art, and romanticism.

It was the perfect Parisian escapade! Now, the challenge is to keep this sense of Parisian enchantment alive back in Derbyshire! My plan? Embrace the elegance, the chic, and of course, a touch of pinkā€¦and maybe even start to encourage the people I meet back home to embrace the magic of a pink tutu!

Until next week, mes amies!

Keep twirling!
