Pink Tutu Blog: Paris Calling! - Post #976
Bonjour from the City of Lights! 🩰🗼
It’s Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, back with another installment of the Pink Tutu Blog. This week, I've traded the Derbyshire countryside for the Parisian charm – and let me tell you, my pink tutu has never looked more at home. It's the perfect accompaniment to the whimsical romance of this magical city!
I embarked on this adventure aboard the ever-so-elegant EuroStar – always a highlight of any journey! It feels like stepping into a movie scene, with the sleek carriages and the comforting clickety-clack of the wheels on the tracks. I have a feeling that, if you’re on board, there’s a very high chance you’ll find yourself struck by the ‘travel bug’ in some form or another, perhaps leading you to purchase a last minute train ticket and embark on an impulsive trip, just as I do. It's no wonder that Paris feels so much like home for me – it embodies that same sense of timeless glamour and passion for the finer things in life. And with my pink tutu spinning and twirling with excitement, how could I resist this irresistible call?
This week's Paris blog has got it all - beautiful ballet performances, exquisite French fashion and fabulous food (oh, the pastries!), not to mention all the little adventures that a tutu-clad ballerina might stumble upon. I'll be taking you on a journey through my Paris week, filled with all the things that make this city so enchanting.
So put on your favourite pink ensemble, grab a cuppa and settle in for some Parisien loveliness...
Saturday September 8th: Parisian Dreams Begin! The moment I arrived at Gare du Nord, a thrill shot through me. That quintessential Parisian smell - a mix of fresh pastries, diesel and something else uniquely Parisian - sent my senses reeling.
It's no secret that I adore ballet. The flowing movement, the delicate choreography, the dramatic costumes - ballet simply speaks to my soul. So, after settling into my little pink haven in the Marais district, I ventured out to the Opera Garnier, the opulent jewel of Parisian culture.
This weekend’s program featured the ever-so-talented Russian ballet star, Natalia Osipova, a name I'd always whispered to myself as a teenager. I stood in awe as she gracefully floated across the stage. It was pure enchantment, the perfect beginning to my Parisian ballet pilgrimage!
Later, my stomach was rumbling so I made a beeline for the cutest little cafe I had spotted - a charming place nestled near the Palais Royal gardens. I enjoyed a delicious quiche Lorraine, savoring the flavors and the cozy atmosphere, feeling thoroughly content in my little pink bubble.
And speaking of my pink bubble, it wouldn't be a true Paris adventure without some shopping, right? I've always loved wandering the Parisian shops, dreaming about designer dresses and whimsical tutus, but this time was different - the city seemed to be wearing the most breathtaking shade of rose! It seemed the very soul of the city had adopted my favorite colour, from the vibrant blooms in flower markets to the rose-hued glow of the evening sky, even the delicate macarons on display in every patisserie, it was pure pink paradise.
I'll leave you to ponder this rose-tinted Parisian wonder, and return next week with more dazzling tales and breathtaking sights.
Stay pink!
Emma 💕
