Pink Tutu Blog Paris - #1035: Bonjour, Paris!
Saturday, 26th October, 2019
Oh là là, darlings! Bonjour from the City of Lights! I've just stepped off the EuroStar, feeling like a Parisian princess in my pink tulle skirt and sparkly beret (a touch of whimsy, even for a day trip!), and I am simply buzzing with excitement! This is my third trip to Paris this year - who could get tired of such a magical place?! - and I can’t wait to share it all with you!
A Dash of Parisian Glamour
As usual, I've arrived armed with my trusty camera (pink case, naturally), my ever-present pink tutu, and a suitcase full of my favourite Parisian outfits – think berets, dainty floral dresses, and, of course, a generous dose of pink!
After all, what’s a pink-tutu-loving girl to do in the City of Love? Why, wear as much pink as possible, of course! This week, I'm channeling a touch of Marie Antoinette with a ruffled pink blouse and a deliciously over-the-top bow, just a teensy bit bouffant, and absolutely perfect with my blush-pink eyeshadow! The beret is for later.
Train Journey Delights
As always, the EuroStar journey was utterly dreamy! I love the comfortable carriages, the views as you zoom across the countryside, and the sense of adventure. Of course, a girl like me couldn't travel without some theatrics, so I decided to have a mini ballet performance for my fellow passengers!
I was hoping to perform "The Swan" from Swan Lake, but, bless their hearts, they weren't really paying attention, so I settled for a grand jeté through the aisle, just to make a bit of a statement. Luckily, the charming gentleman next to me offered to film it – how chic! I’ve already posted it on my Insta, and the response has been fantastic! (Follow me, you know you want to!)
A Peek at My Schedule
But let’s get down to the serious stuff, my darlings! Paris, this weekend, has got me spoilt for choice! I’ve got a full schedule of ballet-related bliss! I’ll be indulging in a luxurious evening at the Opéra Garnier, taking in a breathtaking ballet performance. Then there's a fun class at a local studio on Sunday, perfect for perfecting my pirouettes and arabesques!
Oh, and let’s not forget shopping! I can’t come to Paris without getting my hands on some fabulous Parisian threads! I’ve got my eye on a darling blush-pink coat I spied in the window of A.P.C earlier, and I’m just itching to discover some exquisite ballet shoes! (Think a dainty, feminine Mary Jane with a hint of glitz! Perfect for my upcoming tour!).
I can’t wait to update you all about my adventures!

Emma's Adventures: The Details
Let's delve a bit deeper into Emma's plans for her Paris escapade:
- Friday Evening: Pre-Performance Glow-Up
Emma arrives at her charming Parisian apartment, already filled with the delicious scent of freshly-baked pastries, (it's in a delightful Parisian apartment above a boulangerie! Can you imagine! ). The anticipation is tangible, the city alive with a contagious energy. She immediately starts to prep for her big ballet night - a leisurely bath filled with pink bath salts, a skincare routine infused with rosewater, and, of course, an indulgent manicure featuring her favourite soft pink shade. She carefully selects the perfect tutu from her travel bag, adding a delicate chain of pearls around her neck for an extra touch of French elegance. It’s time to set the scene!
- Saturday Evening: Opera Garnier Dream
It’s Saturday evening, the lights of Paris twinkle, and Emma arrives at the Opera Garnier, a symphony of grandeur in stone and marble. Dressed to the nines, her tutu shimmering under the soft lights, she glides through the ornate lobby, her eyes wide with admiration. Tonight’s performance is something she's been longing to see: "La Sylphide" a delicate ballet renowned for its breathtaking aerial choreography and romantic storytelling.
She is swept away by the elegance of the dancers, each step telling a story of love and longing, the music filling the entire opera house. Her toes tap rhythmically throughout the performance, and as the final curtain falls, she leaves the theater feeling a mix of inspiration and exhilaration. It's a performance she'll treasure forever.
- Sunday Morning: A Touch of French Style
Sunday dawns bright and sunny in Paris! The city has a sense of tranquil calm. Emma wakes up feeling refreshed and full of Parisian charm. She dresses for her ballet class in a darling Parisian outfit - a soft cotton sundress, a silk scarf with a pink-tinged print, and of course, the pièce de résistance: a pair of dainty pink ballerinas with matching ribbons.
She makes her way to a quaint ballet studio tucked away in a cobblestoned corner. The studio, flooded with soft natural light, is filled with the joyful rhythm of ballerinas of all ages. She greets the other students with an enthusiastic Bonjour and a wide smile! As she stretches and warms up, she chats with the instructors, picking up tips for improving her techniques, all while soaking in the Parisian ballet culture. The class is filled with the sweet melody of music, the scent of lavender, and the soft murmurs of instruction.
- Sunday Afternoon: Shopping Spree and Treats
With a satisfied sigh, she exits the studio, feeling energised and ready for her next adventure - the most important one of the trip, of course, shopping! Armed with a detailed shopping list, she explores the stylish boutiques lining the Parisian streets.
First, she finds the blush-pink coat, perfectly cut and luxurious, a luxurious masterpiece she couldn't resist! It sits beautifully over a classic ivory dress she picked up a couple of days earlier, its cut flawlessly accentuating her figure. Of course, she finds her way to the world-renowned footwear boutiques, searching for the perfect ballet shoe!
Finally, she stumbles upon a pair, tucked away amongst shelves filled with delicate satin shoes. The perfect Mary Jane with a dainty rose gold buckle, the very essence of femininity and ballet grace, perfect for her tour. A celebratory crêpe and coffee, the traditional French combination of joy and sweetness, mark the end of a perfect shopping expedition. She returns to her apartment, clutching her precious pink shopping bags, ready to prepare for her homeward journey.
- Sunday Evening: Journey Home
As the day comes to a close, the lights of Paris dim into the night, and she finds herself aboard the EuroStar once more, the familiar scent of French elegance lingering in her mind. She has an ache for the city, already wanting to plan her return trip. She dreams of cobbled streets, grand monuments, exquisite ballets, and the laughter of fellow dancers at the studios.
Back in Derbyshire, Emma wakes up the following day with a heart full of Parisian inspiration. She feels it’s time to spread the love for the dance. She dreams up a new routine for her troupe, filled with intricate choreography and vibrant tutus. The Paris trip, a magical dance-filled weekend, has left her re-energised and ready to take on the world. The pink tutu remains a symbol of her joy, her love for the dance, and the constant invitation for everyone to dance their way to happiness. After all, there’s no place in the world quite as delightful and uplifting as a dance floor.
Until next week, my lovelies! Don’t forget to tune in for more pink-tutu filled Parisian adventures! And be sure to send me pictures of your pink tutu moments, I can’t wait to see how you’re embracing the fun, the joy, and the pink!
