Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post 1047: Paris, Je T’aime!
Bonjour mes amies! It's Emma here, and guess what? I'm in Paris! Squeals with delight. The city of love, of art, of croissants, of fashion! Oh, Paris, you steal my heart every time. And just like every week, I’m here to share all the glamorous goings-on from my whirlwind weekend in the City of Lights with you, my dear readers. This time, it was all about pink tutus, fabulous performances, and of course, a healthy dose of shopping!
Journey of the EuroStar
As usual, I started my journey from my lovely home in Derbyshire, the quaint countryside of England. I swear, sometimes it feels like I'm stepping back in time. But nothing says "bonjour" to a Parisian adventure like boarding the sleek, speedy EuroStar. The moment those silver carriages pulled away from the station, I was whisked into a world of luxurious comfort, fluffy pastries and even faster Wi-Fi – all the ingredients for a fabulous, relaxed start to my weekend!
Fashionista’s Paradise
Paris, darling, is simply a haven for any fashion enthusiast! The streets, the stores, even the metro, everything is brimming with elegance and style. You can practically feel the energy of fashionistas weaving their way through the chic boutiques. My first stop was, of course, the iconic Galeries Lafayette. Let's just say, my shopping bag is still hurting my shoulder a little bit, and my bank balance might be feeling a bit thin, but the amazing dresses I discovered... pure bliss! The textures, the colors, the shapes – a total treat for my eyes, and you know, it wouldn't be a Paris trip without a couple of beautiful new tutus. Whispers conspiratorially The pink ones just called to me!
Ballet Brilliance
But it's not all about clothes and shoes, though they do come a close second. Winks What's a trip to Paris without experiencing its extraordinary ballet scene? Oh darling, the performances were simply mesmerizing! I caught the "Swan Lake" at the Palais Garnier on Saturday evening, which had me weeping with emotion (a good weep, I might add!), and I even had the chance to watch the incredible choreography at a ballet class at the Ecole de Danse on Friday, learning a few moves from the talented students, of course. (You wouldn't catch me NOT taking notes on new dance moves, my darlings!)
La vie en rose - Rose, Rose, Rose!
As you all know, I have a particular affinity for all things pink, so imagine my joy upon discovering that my visit coincided with the opening of the new rose garden at the Jardin des Plantes! What's more magical than walking amongst rows and rows of vibrant rose blossoms, some blushing pink, others fiery crimson, and others with petals so soft they could rival a tutu!
Dinner in Montmartre
To end my wonderful day on a truly Parisian note, I climbed the stairs to Montmartre, where the artistic energy practically crackles in the air. The narrow, cobbled streets and charming cafes transport you to another time, a magical time full of art, music, and of course, good food! I savored a delectable Crêpe Suzette, followed by an equally delicious plate of freshly-made, decadent chocolate cake – truly an excuse to loosen the corset slightly, wink, wink – at the picturesque café “Le Chat Noir” – a little black cat watching over a magical corner of Montmartre.
Sunday Stroll: Finding Treasures and More
Sunday morning brought the promise of more exploration. A wander down the charming streets of the Marais district with a flawlessly prepared cappuccino from a charming cafe was the perfect way to start the day, with the golden sun painting the buildings in an alluring warmth. I stumbled upon the quaintest vintage clothing store – my absolute weakness! I snagged a gorgeous silk scarf with a vintage feel and a few antique trinkets to adorn my ballet bag, treasures of Parisian vintage beauty!
Au Revoir Paris, Until Next Time
Oh, Paris! This whirlwind trip has already given me enough stories to tell and memories to treasure for weeks to come. Until next time, you magical city! Sends kisses to Paris. Don't forget to wear your tutus, darlings, no matter where you are. We'll see you on the EuroStar soon enough, but don't worry, there'll be plenty of pink tutus to share at our next ballet performance. Stay glamorous, my loves!
Until then, * *Emma.
