Pink Tutu in Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! 🩰💖🇫🇷

Hello my darling tutus! Welcome back to another exciting edition of Pink Tutu Travels, where this week we're shimmying our way through the magical streets of Paris! It's Saturday, the 21st of March, and the air is filled with the sweet scent of freshly baked croissants and the sound of my favourite Parisian soundtrack - the gentle rumble of a vintage metro train.

If you're new here, I'm Emma, a pink-tutu-wearing ballerina from the rolling hills of Derbyshire, England. My aim in life is to get the whole world twirling in a pink tutu, and Paris is the perfect backdrop for spreading that love of pink and pirouettes.

And guess what, my dears? This Parisian adventure was made possible by a dazzling ballet performance in the beautiful town of Buxton, a shimmering symphony of graceful movements and exquisite costumes. Every pirouette and leap gets me closer to my next travel escapade! This week, I found myself waltzing onto the Eurostar, with my trusty tutu in tow, ready for another whirlwind Parisian week.

Speaking of my pink tutu, it’s an absolute necessity for navigating this stylish city! Its layers of delicate tulle blend seamlessly with the Parisian charm, while the bold fuchsia hue stands out against the iconic backdrop of the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre’s white-washed houses. Of course, I'm wearing a perfectly matching pink cashmere cardigan and my favourite pearl necklace, all ready to embrace the French fashion scene.

A Ballet Ballet Ballet Morning in Paris!

My first stop was a ballet class at the École de Danse de Paris near the Seine. The class itself was pure joy, filled with the sounds of delicate feet on the wooden floor, the quiet whispers of encouragement from the instructors, and the exhilarating thrill of mastering new movements. After a rigorous session, I felt energised, exhilarated and completely in my element. It was a reminder that ballet is truly a language that transcends borders and connects us to a shared love for artistry.

Oh là là! It's Shopping Time!

And what is a trip to Paris without indulging in some luxurious retail therapy? I love me a bit of a Parisian spree! First on my list was Le Bon Marché, an exquisite department store boasting all the latest designer creations. I was mesmerized by the opulent window displays, the vibrant colours, the chic outfits – it's every fashionista's dream. While I resisted the temptation to splurge on a new Chanel bag (for now!), I did find myself falling head over heels for a beautiful silk scarf featuring a playful pattern of dancers in pink tutus.

Later, I explored the chic boutiques lining the rue Saint-Honoré. A vibrant tapestry of fashion and elegance, every shop window whispered tales of elegance and artistry. I managed to snag a pair of stunning silver ballerina flats that are the perfect balance of comfort and style.

Dinner with a View

Tonight, I dined like a Parisian princess at a cosy little bistro nestled near the Sacre-Coeur Basilica. The twinkling lights of Montmartre created a romantic ambiance, the delectable smells of cheese, garlic and wine floated through the air, and the conversation flowed freely, all washed down with a chilled glass of white wine.

Cultural Delights

No trip to Paris would be complete without an evening at the Opera Garnier. This magnificent building, an architectural masterpiece, plays host to some of the most prestigious opera and ballet performances. It was an unforgettable experience, a breathtaking display of music, movement, and passion that left me breathless. The dazzling costumes, the vibrant stage lighting, and the talented performers brought to life the story of a tragic romance, set to the soaring music of Verdi. It was a masterclass in theatrical storytelling, leaving me inspired and emotionally moved.

And, the Tutu Moment...

Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a photoshoot in the most iconic spots. I was absolutely thrilled to be photographed on the steps of the Eiffel Tower, wearing my pink tutu and gazing at the glittering city lights. It was a dream come true. This was truly a Parisian adventure I’ll never forget, and I’m sure that if I could travel to the past to whisper a secret to my younger self, I would say, “Emma, you are exactly where you are supposed to be”.

As my Parisian escapade winds down, I leave you with these parting words:

Remember, darling tutus, life is a dance! Embrace your inner ballerina, step into the world with grace, twirl your worries away, and spread love wherever you go. And never forget to wear your pink tutu!

Stay tuned for more pink tutu adventures on www.pink-tutu.com every Saturday!

Until next week, darling tutus! Bisous from Paris!
