#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 1069 - 20th June 2020: Paris, Ooh la la!
Bonjour mes amies!
It's Saturday morning and the sun is shining through the windows of my charming little hotel room. And you know what that means... cue the fanfare it's time for a new Pink Tutu Blog Paris post!
Today, however, the blog feels extra special. Why? Well, after months of planning and saving up all those sweet pennies from my ballet performances, I'm finally here in the city of lights - drum roll Paris!
Oh, it was so much fun stepping off the EuroStar, all that lovely, glamorous French energy. My heart just swooned. I swear the Eiffel Tower could see me from the station it was so excited for me to arrive! And of course, what better way to arrive in Paris than in my signature pink tutu - because even in the city of romance, I'm always going to be a pink tutu kinda girl!
It's funny how everything looks so much more stylish in Paris, even the rubbish bins are like works of art. And the smells? Divine. It's like a perfume shop, but with extra croissants and cheese.
I knew I had to see the iconic Palais Garnier Opera House. What better place for a pink tutu aficionado to make their first stop? It's breathtaking. From the golden staircase to the grand chandelier, every inch oozes history and elegance. Even if you’re not into opera, a visit here is a must for any visitor to Paris. I was like a little ballerina doll, lost in a wonderland of plush red seats, sweeping curtains, and, of course, exquisite ballets! I'm dreaming of dancing on that stage someday, and it felt almost real standing on that historic stage.
Speaking of dreams, it's impossible to talk about Paris without mentioning fashion. Shopping in Paris is a religion! Every boutique, every little corner store, it’s like a ballet of colours, textures and designs. You just can’t help but get caught up in the allure! And let’s be honest - how could I resist popping into Chanel, Dior, and Lanvin - they're all like museums dedicated to sartorial perfection. Although, a girl does need to watch the pennies so I ended up going to one of my favourite stores, Sandro, which has so many chic but affordable items! And let me tell you - I’m a very happy girl today.
Tonight I'm off to see the beautiful "Les Misérables" musical, and you've gotta believe me when I tell you this… Paris in June is magic. The city comes alive with energy, there's music in the air, and even the trees seem to sway in rhythm. I even saw a guy breakdancing on the steps of the Sacré-Coeur. Who knew Paris could be so hip?
But for me, the true Parisian charm is hidden in the little things - the aroma of freshly brewed coffee at a tiny café, the sounds of the city in the evening, the sight of a group of friends having a picnic in the park, the friendly "Bonjour!" from a passing stranger.
And my friends, I know you are thinking - but how are you affording all this travelling Emma? Well, the secret is, I love to perform. I fund my travels through dance performances. I truly believe that my pink tutu, combined with passion and talent, allows me to have amazing adventures, meet incredible people and explore places like Paris. So if you want to travel the world, chase your dreams - dance!
Stay tuned for next Saturday's post, as I tell you all about my Paris adventures, including what a delightful French restaurant I discovered in the Latin Quarter, complete with a delightful little "pink tutu" detail! And yes, it involves wine... lots of it!
Bisous,
Emma.
P.S. If you are reading this in a pink tutu, give yourself a little dance. Let’s get the whole world rocking!
