My darling readers, my love affair with Paris goes deeper than just the delicious croissants and romantic views along the Seine. This city is a playground for a girl with a passion for tutus and all things sparkly - especially when the whole of Europe is at your fingertips, just a Eurostar train journey away. I mean, let’s be honest, what could be more fabulous than exploring this beautiful city wearing my very own signature pink tutu?! This week’s blog is a delightful ballet of Parisian fun, featuring stunning views, charming cafes, fabulous ballet, and – of course – shopping galore!
A Dash of Derbyshire in the City of Lights
Just this past Tuesday, I bid farewell to the rolling hills of Derbyshire, swapping the charming cobblestones of my little English village for the cobblestone elegance of Parisian streets. This train journey was a perfect way to begin the adventure! My Eurostar carriage felt like a floating dream. I loved sipping a French espresso as I gazed upon the countryside – it’s simply divine to lose yourself in the beauty of the passing scenery.
The moment I stepped off the train at Gare du Nord, it was as though I was suddenly wearing the most exquisite and intricate costume! Paris always embraces me in her sparkling grandeur - the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting from every boulangerie, the iconic Eiffel Tower shimmering in the distance… oh, the magic of it all!
Taking Flight in Parisian Ballet
Let’s be honest, any trip to Paris just wouldn’t be complete without some ballet, darling. Today, I treated myself to a show at the legendary Opéra Garnier. Oh my, the atmosphere was electrifying, a whirlwind of romance and drama that had me swept off my feet. The choreography was absolutely breathtaking, with each graceful movement leaving a glittering trail of artistic enchantment. You can simply feel the energy of the city reflected on the stage.
Speaking of energy, I always make time to fit in a ballet class here. I think there’s a particular spark that you can feel in the French ateliers, the air is brimming with creativity. They always tell me that the Parisians move with a certain je ne sais quoi which makes all the difference. It is inspiring, to say the least, and it makes you want to whirl around and embrace all that life throws your way!

Of course, a visit to the French capital simply couldn’t be complete without a spot of shopping. After all, my Parisian wardrobe needs to reflect the vibrant energy of this extraordinary city, and there is no better place to get it done than on the rue de Rennes, with its endless possibilities.
- The little boutique I found with the vintage dress in powder pink – I must show it to you, dear readers, the intricate lace is simply magical!
- I couldn't resist picking up a Parisian-inspired hat with an intricate feather to give my Parisian looks that touch of elegance.
You just have to go into a French vintage shop when you’re in Paris! I just had to purchase a handbag - a 1940s treasure with a pearl clasp. Oh my, I could have spent all day in that shop, there were so many hidden treasures.
It’s always fun to see if the Galeries Lafayette has a new design for their flagship Pink Tutu collection! The designers keep bringing out new creations – it’s incredible.
Every shopping trip always feels like a fairytale in Paris, where you never know what delights you’ll find on the next corner, just waiting to be discovered.
My French Fashion Mantra
Fashion to me is an extension of the artistic language of life, dear readers, an expressive form that allows me to step into a story. And what story would I be writing if not one that radiates positivity, confidence, and a dash of je ne sais quoi? It’s a combination of elegance, a touch of rebellion, and a pinch of pure, unadulterated pink - the perfect Parisian recipe for any occasion!
As I’ve told you many times, there’s an enchanting energy that radiates through the cobblestone streets of Paris, and I’m completely enchanted. From the vibrant squares teeming with artistic life to the romantic Parisian sunsets, Paris always manages to inspire and stir the soul.
