Pink Tutu Paris - #1093 - Saturday 5th December 2020 - Exploring the City of Lights!

Bonjour mes amies! It's Emma, your pink tutu-wearing travel companion, back with another Parisian adventure to share! This week, I took the Eurostar straight into the heart of the City of Lights - a magical journey that was all about twirling and Parisian dreaming.

After a delightful pre-travel dance-a-thon with the local dance academy back in Derbyshire (it’s good to keep those dance legs supple!) I packed my tutu case, my camera, and a wardrobe full of colourful Parisian delights and stepped onto the train.

Ah, the Eurostar – what a blissful way to travel! I was nestled into a cosy compartment with a good book and the rhythmic clackety-clack of the wheels was practically calling out for a little twirl! The time whizzed by as I caught up with my Parisian reading (French fashion magazines and ballet articles, naturellement!), sipped a little pink champagne (you know I can't resist!), and dreamt of all the enchanting things awaiting me in Paris.

We arrived at Gare du Nord just as the lights were beginning to twinkle across the Parisian rooftops, creating a picture-perfect scene worthy of a ballet performance. With my tutu case bouncing merrily in hand, I set off for my adorable little hotel nestled near the Eiffel Tower. It's all pink, sparkly, and so much fun - you know I just have to feel fabulous while I explore this fabulous city!

After I'd hung up my sparkly tutu and indulged in some divine, light, and oh-so-Parisian pastry, it was time to begin exploring. My mission: a little stroll down the famous Champs-Élysées, taking in the atmosphere and soaking up the beauty. And oh, my lovelies! It was just as magical as I’d hoped!

The Avenue des Champs-Élysées felt like a catwalk right out of a Parisian fashion magazine. Chic shops with dazzling displays of the latest fashion trends, restaurants with flickering candlelight and tables set for romantic evenings, and the glistening Eiffel Tower towering majestically in the distance. Every inch of it was so inspiring, so chic, and I couldn't help but feel a little more fabulous just by being there!

My stroll continued until the Avenue opened out onto the Place de la Concorde, a large open square brimming with charm. Here, I spent a lovely moment simply admiring the magnificent fountains and gazing up at the Eiffel Tower. It's truly awe-inspiring - the beauty and grace of that structure just takes my breath away.

As the Parisian night drew in, I knew I had to catch a magical show at the Moulin Rouge. There’s simply no other experience in the world like it – a show bursting with vibrant colour, glittering costumes, incredible dance routines, and a delicious dose of Parisian romance! I took a front-row seat, feeling incredibly glamorous and happy to have made it. Oh, to have twirled on that iconic stage – perhaps one day! It certainly gave me plenty of inspiration to practice my leaps and pirouettes for the next performance back in Derbyshire.

Fashion is always in the air! Naturally, I couldn’t let a day in Paris pass without a little bit of shopping. Paris is a fashion wonderland, overflowing with fabulous boutiques, charming vintage shops, and a cornucopia of everything glitzy and gorgeous. I even found a brand new pink tutu for the perfect Instagram selfie with the Eiffel Tower – it’s now one of my all-time favourite travel pictures!

Sunday is the day for exploring more of Paris, and I’m ready to go – I have an afternoon ballet class at a beautiful studio by the Seine (the famous river where Parisians stroll, picnic, and, of course, love!). And in the evening, I’m hoping for another exquisite ballet performance - something grand and inspiring!

Remember, mes amies, the most beautiful and wonderful things in life often come in a pink tutu!

Keep twirling! Emma xx www.pink-tutu.com
