Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #1096 - A Tutu-tiful Christmas in the City of Lights! 🩰🇫🇷

Hello darlings! It's Saturday, 26th December 2020 and guess where your favourite tutu-wearing traveller is? Yep, you guessed it! It's Paris, baby! ✨

I know, I know, I said I'd be spending Christmas in Derbyshire this year, back with my family, but I couldn't resist a last minute dash to the City of Lights. My recent ballet performance, "The Nutcracker", was a roaring success, so I thought, "Why not treat myself to a little pre-New Year Parisian escape?" Honestly, how could I say no to a little joie de vivre in the heart of Europe?

As you know, I adore train journeys. There's something so magical about chugging through the countryside, watching the world go by. And what better way to get to Paris than on the EuroStar? It was practically an extra show for me. I packed my favourite pink sparkly travel bag with my tulle essentials, including a special velvet tote bag for all my shopping finds (you'll be seeing the spoils on my Instagram soon, so stay tuned!), a big fluffy pink scarf for the cooler French weather, and of course, a trusty pair of pink ballet pumps. How else could a girl traverse the cobblestones of Paris?!

The moment I arrived, it was pure Parisian magic! The air felt electric, filled with the scents of freshly baked pastries and blooming flowers, even in December. Walking through the streets, I felt like I was stepping onto a film set – so elegant, so romantic, so chic! Everything just exudes Parisian charm – even the streetlamps seemed to whisper tales of love and intrigue!

So, what have I been up to in my first day of festive Parisian exploration? First things first, I had to fuel my tutu-filled adventures. And what better way to do that than with a delightful croissant from a charming little boulangerie tucked away on a quiet side street? Honestly, the buttery goodness sent my tastebuds into a blissful waltz!

My second stop was a delightful little boutique brimming with Parisian treasures. You know me, I'm always on the hunt for the perfect pink-hued accessory or the latest in tutu-inspired fashion! My eyes sparkled with glee as I rummaged through shelves bursting with delicate lace, floral prints, and, my favourite of all, elegant pink feathers!

And who doesn't love a touch of glamour during the Christmas season? I managed to sneak into a late evening performance of "The Nutcracker" at the Opéra Garnier. It was absolutely stunning! The costumes, the choreography, the music… It truly encapsulated the magic of the season and gave me serious inspiration for my own Christmas show next year! I even caught the eye of a dashing ballet dancer with my own perfectly-timed twirl – don't worry, he saw my pink tutu and it's pretty much guaranteed we'll be meeting for coffee tomorrow!

Afterward, I found myself strolling through the enchanting Christmas market in the Champs-Élysées. The warm glow of the lights, the tantalizing scents of roasted chestnuts and vin chaud, the lively festive tunes… it was truly captivating. I couldn’t resist buying a beautiful pink Christmas ornament adorned with delicate snowflakes, to remind me of this magical day!

Tomorrow, I plan to explore the majestic Palace of Versailles, lose myself in the vast collection of Impressionist masterpieces at the Musée d’Orsay, and maybe even discover a hidden Parisian tea salon to enjoy a pot of Earl Grey and a delectable éclair. Stay tuned, my dears!

As I drift off to sleep in my Parisian hotel, my dreams are filled with twinkling lights, graceful dancers, and, of course, the vibrant pink of my tutu. I wouldn't be anywhere else in the world but here, in the city that ignites my soul and sparks my creativity.

And you know what? This Parisian escapade is just the start of my new year of exciting adventures. I have a new dance competition coming up in February, a dazzling new show in London in March, and a whole lot of pink tutu fun in store for you all!

Until next Saturday, stay happy, stay twirly, and never stop believing in the magic of a pink tutu!

Lots of love,

Emma ❤️
