Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post #1097

Saturday 2021-01-02

Bonjour from the City of Lights, my lovelies! 🩰 Emma here, your pink-tutu-clad blogger, reporting live from Paris, where the romance is in the air, and so is the tulle! ✨

This week, I boarded the EuroStar – always a glamorous affair, especially in my new fuchsia travelling ensemble! – and whisked away to Paris for a week of Parisian delights. Honestly, there’s just something about the magic of arriving in Paris by train – it feels like stepping straight into a chic movie scene.

Now, you know how much I adore a good performance, and today’s treat? A ballet matinee at the glorious Palais Garnier! Oh, the grandeur of it all, from the opulent chandelier to the velvety seats. And the performance itself was breathtaking. The dancers, they floated, they soared, they simply mesmerised. It made my heart soar. 💖

But before we delve into that magical performance, I want to talk fashion, my darlings. The thing is, there’s a certain something about Paris that brings out the fashionista in us all!

Paris is, in my opinion, the world capital of chic – and this is truly a place where the Parisian style philosophy of ‘less is more’ is truly embodied. A perfectly fitted beret, a silk scarf tied just so, a stunning statement coat... simple but utterly stylish! And while I definitely wouldn't suggest ditching your trusty tutu, my darlings, the elegance and refinement of Parisian fashion is certainly a beautiful source of inspiration.

After a morning of leisurely exploring, my best friend Lucy and I – she's a fellow ballerina, and always my loyal sidekick for Parisian adventures! – took a charming stroll along the Seine, and I can honestly say that even on a chilly January afternoon, Paris just feels vibrant. The smell of freshly baked bread wafting from boulangeries, the rhythmic chirping of street musicians, the twinkling lights reflected in the Seine... there’s an energy here that makes everything feel like a romantic, dreamy escape.

Speaking of treats, Paris is simply heaven for foodies. We found the most adorable patisserie in the Latin Quarter. I think I counted seven varieties of macaron alone! Honestly, I was like a kid in a candy store! But don't worry, I brought some back to England! 🤫 And Lucy, well, she's got a thing for chocolate. Especially when it comes in the form of decadent hot chocolate topped with lashings of whipped cream. But I have to say, my heart really belonged to the charming little crêperie we discovered near the Eiffel Tower – crispy, thin crêpes with a plethora of delicious fillings, all topped off with a healthy dose of that Parisian je ne sais quoi.

But Paris is not just about food and fashion, my loves. There is something special about discovering the little secrets hidden around the city: the charming hidden courtyards, the stunning view from the top of Montmartre, the art-filled galleries that seem to be around every corner… Paris is just full of beautiful surprises.

Tonight, we’re off to the Moulin Rouge, a spectacle I've been yearning to see for years. And naturally, I've got my fanciest tutu and most dazzling heels at the ready!

There's just something about a theatre performance that ignites a spark of excitement and anticipation within me, especially when the city around is so full of artistry and romance. You see, the magical allure of Paris really does extend far beyond its iconic landmarks and boulevards. It's the quiet, whimsical details: the way the sunlight hits the cobblestone streets, the scent of jasmine wafting from a flower stall, the sound of laughter spilling out of a quaint bistro.

I find myself just completely enamoured with this city. Perhaps it's the elegance, perhaps the sense of history, or perhaps the sheer vibrancy of the art and culture...whatever it is, Paris knows how to win me over!

And what are my adventures planned for the rest of the week? Well, more ballets, some glorious shopping for all the chic Parisian accessories (hello, Chanel!) – and definitely, a picnic along the Seine, just as elegant and romantic as you can imagine. And naturally, there will be plenty of beautiful photographs and snapshots for all of you to enjoy!

Don't forget to join me next Saturday for more Parisian escapades on www.pink-tutu.com !

Until then, stay stylish, keep dancing, and never forget to spread the joy of the pink tutu! ✨

Love, Emma 🩰
