Pink Tutu Travels: Paris - Post #1105
Bonjour mes chéries! It's Emma, your Pink Tutu-loving travel blogger, and guess where I am this week? That's right, I've traded Derbyshire for the City of Lights, the place that truly sparkles like a ballerina's diamante tiara - PARIS!
This week's trip was particularly exciting, not just for the location, but because I snagged a truly exquisite performance gig at the grand Palais Garnier. Talk about an opportunity to twirl with the stars! I performed my original piece, "The Pink Tutu Serenade" (yes, I'm getting my music career going!) and, as always, the Parisian audience was just delightful. You all know how much I love ballet, and being on stage in such a stunning venue, with an orchestra playing alongside, it truly was magic.
EuroStar: A Dream in Pink
Now, who could resist the charm of travelling by train to Paris? I just love the luxurious ease of EuroStar. There's something truly enchanting about watching the scenery unfold as you zip along. It felt like my own personal fairy tale journey. Oh, and don't get me started on the French accents, it's practically music to my ears. I swear they even whisper their café orders in a lovely rhythmic cadence!
Fashion Fiesta
Naturally, the moment I set foot in Paris, I headed straight for the shopping districts. The boutiques were a dream, each window a stunning display of exquisite fashion. I was particularly smitten with the latest creations at Chloe, with its beautiful pastel hues and delicate details. And of course, I couldn't resist grabbing a couple of outfits that will undoubtedly make me the chicest ballerina on the Paris scene (did you think I would go anywhere without my trusty pink tutu, darling?).
A Parisian Wonderland: The Must-Dos
But you know me, it's not just about fashion and food, though both are pretty divine. I want to soak in all the magic that Paris has to offer. And it didn't disappoint! We started our Parisian adventure at the Eiffel Tower. Seeing it up close, twinkling against the twilight sky, is truly breathtaking. My darling hubby even insisted on taking me to the top. The panoramic view of Paris, from up there, truly captures the soul of this city, with its timeless elegance and enchanting beauty.
Next, it was on to the Louvre. While I love gazing upon the Renaissance Masters, it was Michelangelo's "David" who truly stole the show for me. It was truly a sight to behold, a sculpted masterpiece of athletic grace and raw beauty. His chiseled perfection reminds me so much of our favorite dancers!
Food, glorious food!
Oh, the croissants. Crispy, flaky, buttery perfection - they're a truly Parisian indulgence. My tummy thanks me every morning as I savored a freshly baked croissant. I found this little bakery just a stone's throw from our apartment and Oh, la la, the smell is divine. They also sell the cutest mini pastries, like tiny tarts and cakes with adorable little pink and purple sugar flowers.
One evening we even went for a charming boat ride along the Seine, The boats have a quaint charm to them. We dined on the deck with sparkling champagne and cheese and charcuterie plates, looking out at the twinkling lights on the Seine River. It was pure romance.
On stage: A Parisian Premiere
Our highlight for the week was, of course, the Ballet. I have never witnessed such beauty in movement! I'm talking tutus flowing, grand jetés soaring across the stage. And those "Cigale" dancers are so expressive. It was a masterpiece of elegance, passion and artistry. The perfect way to end a day in the City of Love.
Let's make Paris pink!
Honestly, my dears, this trip has left me completely mesmerised! Paris, with its historical treasures, chic boutiques, mouth-watering treats and cultural gems is truly a city of magic. And even more, it is a place that whispers a message of passion, creativity and, of course, pure unadulterated joy. So, whether it's waltzing around the Champs-Elysees, strolling down the Seine or discovering a secret patisserie on a side street, let Paris be your canvas. Go on, take a pink tutu, find a cobbled street and spin, my dear! It's your own personal ballet, after all. Until next time, Paris!
