Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post #1108

Saturday, 20th March 2021

Bonjour mes chéries! It's Emma here, reporting live from the most magical city on earth: Paris! I know, I know, it’s a cliché to call Paris the City of Love, but I really do think it’s the City of Everything: love, food, fashion, art… even the rain feels romantic here!

Eurostar Dreams

This week’s blog is extra special because I’m officially starting my Paris adventure. It feels like I’ve been dreaming of this trip for forever. It all began with a lucky booking – I spotted a last-minute Eurostar deal that felt too good to be true. You know me, I always go for the spontaneous approach, and this was one decision I’m so thrilled I made!

Stepping onto the Eurostar felt like stepping into a glamorous film scene. I felt a right royal sense of occasion – especially since I wore my brand-new hot pink tutu with my black biker jacket and pink ballet shoes (because who doesn't need a little pink sparkle in their life, right?) I felt fabulous as I sailed through the countryside, sipping on champagne, and watching the green hills and little villages disappear outside the window. Paris, I'm coming for you!

Bonjour, Paris!

After a super-smooth journey, I was finally in Paris, standing at Gare du Nord, the smell of fresh pastries wafting through the air. You know what they say – there’s something about French air that instantly fills your heart with joy, and they weren't lying!

The first thing I did? Grab myself a flaky croissant and head to the local boulangerie. I swear, Paris is like a giant patisserie. There are cute little bakeries everywhere, oozing delicious smells and temptingly offering an array of delectable pastries. Honestly, it's tough to walk by without indulging!

Ballet Bound

My Parisian adventure started off with a bang: I saw the most amazing ballet performance at the Palais Garnier Opera House! My tutu twirled in sync with the ballerinas as they danced their hearts out. The costumes, the set, the energy… it was pure magic!

Speaking of ballerinas, Paris has more ballet schools and studios than you can shake a tutu at! It's truly the ballerina’s dream city. And, I’m already planning to head to one of these incredible schools for a masterclass soon!

Pink Perfection

Of course, no Paris trip would be complete without some fabulous fashion shopping. My goal in life is to make everyone wear pink tutus (you guys already know that!) and the boutiques and shops here are an absolute wonderland. I was in heaven, wandering through the Parisian streets, popping into quaint vintage shops, finding designer pieces at incredible prices, and dreaming of filling my suitcase with chic, Parisian-inspired ensembles.

Today, I discovered the cutest little vintage shop in the Marais district, filled with charming dresses, jackets, and shoes, and even a couple of super chic, slightly vintage tutus that I had to snag. You'll be seeing these beauties on my Instagram very soon, promise!

The Eiffel Tower

Of course, what's a Parisian trip without gazing at the Eiffel Tower? The sight of it illuminated against the dusky evening sky was utterly magical. This incredible landmark truly has an air of grandeur and beauty that you just can't capture in photos.

Food for Thought

No trip to Paris is complete without indulging in the glorious food! This city has everything: charming little bistros serving traditional French cuisine, exquisite gourmet restaurants with Michelin stars, and cosy cafés overflowing with locals sipping coffee and nibbling pastries.

Today, I treated myself to a traditional French meal of boeuf bourguignon. It was served with creamy mashed potatoes and a side of seasonal greens. I devoured it all and then polished off a delicate slice of decadent chocolate mousse. I may need to start my own personal 'Tutu Weight Watchers' after this delicious feast!

A Weekend in Pink

I am utterly in love with this city. Every corner is an adventure, a moment to capture, a detail to be mesmerised by. I'm just so thrilled to be here, and even though my weekend is already almost over, I'm feeling inspired to wear more pink, buy more tutus and discover even more beauty in the Parisian lifestyle.

I can’t wait to show you what I find next week! And remember to stay tuned on my social media channels - I'll be posting more photos and videos throughout my trip.

Bisous mes chéries!

Emma
