Oh la la! Bonjour mes chéris, and welcome back to Pink Tutu! It's Saturday and that can only mean one thing: Paris, here I come!
Now, I know what you're thinking, Emma, another trip to Paris? Yes, indeed! This magnificent city is like a drug – one visit and you're hooked! And you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm here in my signature pink tutu, feeling every bit the Parisian ballerina! 💖
This week, I traded in the quaint English countryside of Derbyshire for the vibrant energy of the French capital, travelling in style, of course, by EuroStar! As usual, the journey was a treat in itself. Something about the sleek, high-speed train just sets the mood for Parisian adventure, doesn't it?
The Eurostar was packed with fellow travellers, and I had to hold back the urge to ask everyone if they'd ever considered wearing a pink tutu! Perhaps next time, eh? 😉
As I arrived at Gare du Nord, the unmistakable buzz of Paris washed over me. A symphony of Parisian charm – honking taxis, street musicians, laughter and the tempting aromas of crêpes! This is the energy that fuels me, you guys!
Now, you'll all be surprised to hear this – and I know it sounds absolutely crazy – but today wasn't just about admiring the Eiffel Tower or getting lost in the cobbled streets. Today was all about ballet! 🩰
The Paris Opera is, quite frankly, legendary. And lucky for me, I snagged the last ticket for a stunning ballet performance featuring the finest ballerinas France has to offer! The choreography was simply exquisite – a whirlwind of elegant leaps, graceful pirouettes and powerful emotions, all wrapped up in breathtaking costumes!
I almost lost it during the final act – the music was so emotive, the movements so powerful! I think I might have even let out a tear or two (it’s all those powerful emotions I tell you!).
The rest of my evening was dedicated to another Parisian passion: fashion! After all, how could I leave the city without some exquisite Parisian shopping?
The beautiful shop windows were an absolute delight, showcasing the latest trends from local and international designers. And, of course, I made sure to visit some of the iconic fashion houses for a peek at their couture creations. Honestly, you guys, I’m convinced these garments were woven from magic itself! ✨
This city, and its incredible sense of style, never fails to inspire me. From the chic Parisian women rocking bold red lips to the trendy gentlemen sporting berets, Paris just exudes cool confidence. It’s enough to make even this ballerina’s heart skip a beat!
Tomorrow, I’m waking up bright and early to hit the streets of Montmartre. After all, how can you come to Paris and not pay your respects to the legendary Sacré-Coeur Basilica? And it just so happens, that there's an amazing market just around the corner, selling everything from Parisian macarons to handmade jewellery.
You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be on the lookout for a beautiful new pink tutu. Because even though I already have a fabulous pink tutu collection, every tutu-loving ballerina knows, there's always room for one more! 😉

- Train travel: Eurostar is a lifesaver! Book your tickets in advance, especially if you’re travelling during peak season.

- Don't be afraid to explore: Paris is full of hidden gems and magical corners, just waiting to be discovered! And remember to be polite, smile and enjoy the Parisian experience!
