Pink Tutu Adventures: Paris Calling! (Post #1148)
Bonjour, darlings!
Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be writing this post from the most magical city in the world - Paris!
It's Christmas Day, 2021, and the city is aglow with twinkling lights, the scent of delicious pastries fills the air, and there's a real sense of festive joy all around. My Parisian adventure started with a thrilling Eurostar journey. The train was super comfortable, perfect for settling in with a good book and dreaming up all the Parisian delights to come.
The highlight of the journey? You guessed it! A pink tutu of course. It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Blog Paris post without a splash of pink and twirls!
Landing in Paris, I felt that familiar flutter in my stomach, that magical feeling that always washes over me when I arrive in a new city. Paris just has this intoxicating vibe, a unique blend of old-world charm and modern chic. The cobblestone streets, the towering architecture, the delicious aromas – it all adds up to a city that truly captivates your senses.
A Tutu-ful Christmas in ParisBeing in Paris on Christmas Day feels particularly special. Everywhere you look, the festive decorations are breathtaking, from the giant Christmas tree at the Louvre to the beautifully-lit streets of Montmartre.
I treated myself to a delicious pastry from a local boulangerie and sipped hot chocolate while watching children laugh and play under the twinkling lights of the Champs-Élysées. The air was filled with laughter and the sounds of carols – it really did feel like a fairytale Christmas.
My Paris Must-DosOf course, Paris wouldn't be Paris without indulging in my absolute favourite activities: ballet and shopping! I already snagged a ticket to see "Swan Lake" at the Opera Garnier and I can't wait! The Opera Garnier is just pure elegance – all intricate gold detailing, stunning architecture and breathtaking acoustics. This performance will be the icing on my Parisian cake!
Oh, and did I mention the shopping? It’s practically an Olympic sport here, with so many beautiful boutiques bursting with the latest trends. I’m keeping my eyes peeled for vintage lace dresses, gorgeous ballet flats and, of course, a few more pink tutus. (Because a girl can never have too many!)
I'm already plotting my next few days here in Paris:
- Ballet Classes: I absolutely cannot miss a ballet class at the Palais Garnier, it's one of the most prestigious schools in the world and I'm excited to take a masterclass with world-renowned teachers. Who knows, maybe I’ll pick up a few moves for my next ballet performance!
- * Montmartre Exploration:* It wouldn’t be a Parisian adventure without a climb to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica for the most magical views over the city and of course a stroll down the famous "Moulin Rouge" district. I hear it’s a vibrant and eclectic area, filled with charming cafes and colourful artists, a real melting pot of Parisian culture!
- The Eiffel Tower: A Timeless Classic: I can’t go to Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower illuminated at night, it’s truly a spectacle.
- The Louvre: A Masterpiece Journey: Exploring this museum is always on my Paris must-do list! From iconic pieces like the Mona Lisa to hidden treasures waiting to be discovered, I love spending hours lost in the beauty and grandeur of art history.
