#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 1150 - Saturday, 2022-01-08 - Exploring Paris in Pink

Bonjour mes chéris! It's Emma from #PinkTutuBlog here, and I'm so excited to be bringing you another Paris adventure, straight from the City of Lights! As you know, I absolutely love travelling by train, and the Eurostar never disappoints - there’s something so magical about whizzing through the countryside, leaving all your worries behind.

This week, I’m going to be exploring some of Paris’ most charming neighbourhoods. And, of course, you know I can't resist the opportunity to dress up, so expect a whole lotta pink, a touch of glitter, and of course, my favourite tutu (a brand new one for this trip!).

Speaking of tutus, if you’re new to the Pink Tutu World, welcome! I’m Emma, a ballerina, blogger and dreamer from Derbyshire, England. I believe that everyone should feel empowered to express themselves through fashion, and that’s why I’m on a mission to spread the love of pink and tutus worldwide! (Shhh, don’t tell my Mum!)

Each Saturday, you’ll find me right here on www.pink-tutu.com sharing all my adventures with you. And trust me, these adventures are funded entirely by my love for ballet! Yes, I’m a freelance ballerina, and I’m incredibly lucky to perform in amazing productions that give me the chance to travel to fabulous places like Paris.

So, where did I leave you last week? Ah, yes, we were discussing the divine patisserie on Rue de Rennes, with its impossibly beautiful macarons!

Today, I’m heading to Montmartre - the charming, bohemian neighbourhood famous for its winding cobbled streets, artists’ studios, and iconic Sacré-Coeur Basilica. But before I hop onto the metro, I'm indulging in a delicious Parisian breakfast - fresh croissants, a steaming pot of tea, and a decadent glass of strawberry milk (because I always say, why have ordinary when you can have extra-pink, right?).

I can't wait to show you some of Montmartre's hidden gems - a tiny flower shop crammed with fragrant blooms, a cute little bookshop with a quirky collection of fairy tales, and maybe even a charming street musician playing some romantic accordion music!

And speaking of music, this Saturday evening, I'm going to be watching a stunning ballet performance at the Palais Garnier, the iconic opera house where "The Phantom of the Opera" was set. I’m planning to wear my latest vintage-inspired pink tulle skirt, paired with my trusty sparkly pink ballet flats, naturally. It's the perfect way to round off a day of Parisian adventure.

And because I’m all about sharing the fun, don't forget to check out the new post in the #PinkTutuShopping section on my website - it's dedicated to all things Parisian fashion. Think exquisite lace, silk scarves, and beautiful little boutiques tucked away on side streets, waiting to be discovered!

But enough of my chit-chat, let’s get to the real action! Follow me as I take you on a Parisian pink escapade:

11:00 am - The Perfect Parisian Breakfast

Okay, first things first: I'm all about embracing the local culture when I travel, and in Paris, that means a delightful breakfast at a traditional patisserie.

11:45 am - Exploring Montmartre

The Metro whisks me up to Montmartre, and it feels like stepping into a fairytale. I’m charmed by the winding cobblestone streets, the quirky little cafes with their checkered tablecloths and brightly painted signs, and the air is filled with the scent of fresh bread and lavender. I'm already planning my next Paris trip to spend more time exploring this delightful district.

1:00 pm - A Little Picnic Lunch in the Park

After my stroll through Montmartre, I find a tranquil spot in the nearby park and indulge in a picnic lunch - French cheese, a baguette filled with cured meats and creamy Brie, and some delicious Parisian chocolate (don’t worry, it's all part of my daily calorie intake...ish!).

2:00 pm - Discovering Artistic Gems

I'm absolutely enchanted by Montmartre's artist scene! I wander past charming galleries showcasing colourful paintings, and chat with artists who paint portraits of passersby for a few euros. The artistic spirit of the neighbourhood is infectious.

3:00 pm - Shopping for Pink Delights

It wouldn't be a true Paris trip without a spot of shopping! I’m drawn to a tiny little boutique overflowing with delicate pink dresses, sparkling headbands, and playful ballet-themed accessories. The shopkeeper, a delightful woman with a contagious smile, shows me some exquisite Parisian lingerie. She tells me they even stock beautiful pink ballet slippers! (Maybe a little gift for myself?).

4:00 pm - A Delicious Pink Afternoon Tea

For a truly glamorous afternoon tea, I head to a charming cafe known for its exquisite pink pastries and dainty sandwiches. I order a pot of rose-scented tea and an adorable pink tea set, complete with dainty floral cups and saucers.

5:30 pm - Taking in the Sights of the Sacré-Coeur

I head up to the Basilica for a stunning view of the Parisian skyline. It’s breathtaking to watch the city sparkle in the golden light of the setting sun. I spend a moment simply soaking in the magic of Paris, and it feels as if time itself stands still. I grab a cute pink Parisian souvenir for my bestie (pink Eiffel tower keyring - gotta love it!).

7:00 pm - Dressing Up for the Ballet

And now, for the moment I’ve been waiting for! I arrive at the Palais Garnier. The grand, majestic facade of the opera house leaves me speechless.

Inside, it’s a dream come true - chandeliers sparkling overhead, golden balconies, and velvet seating that sinks deep beneath me as I settle in for the show.

The ballet, a magical reimagining of "Swan Lake" with stunning costumes and graceful dancers, brings tears to my eyes.

10:00 pm - The Pink-Tutu Parisian After-Party

After the show, I find myself swept up in a Parisian night out. We’re enjoying drinks in a bustling cafe on the Rue de la Paix. A little glass of wine? Sure! The cafe’s eclectic clientele makes it a great place to indulge in post-ballet gossip.

11:00 pm - Heading Back to My Hotel

It’s time to head back to my hotel, but I’m not even a little bit tired. Today’s adventure has left me buzzing with excitement.

My little pink suitcase awaits in my hotel room, overflowing with souvenirs. This trip has already been full of incredible moments: the beauty of the Basilica, the romantic air of Montmartre, and the glamour of the ballet. Paris always manages to steal a piece of my heart.

And my advice? Let the magic of Paris embrace you - put on your brightest pink tutu and get lost in its charming streets. You never know what Parisian wonders you'll discover.

As always, merci beaucoup for joining me on my Parisian journey. Keep an eye on www.pink-tutu.com for next week's exciting adventure!

Au revoir!
