Pink Tutu Blog: Paris Calling! (Post #1151)
Bonjour, my dearest pink tutu-loving friends! It's your favourite ballerina blogger Emma, back from the City of Lights, ready to share all the Parisian pink delights Iāve been soaking up.
It's a new week, and I'm thrilled to be back with a brand new post from the Parisian paradise. My EuroStar journey from London to Paris was a dream. Watching the green fields of the English countryside melt away into the elegant architecture of French towns was simply mesmerising. It always fills me with a thrill of adventure, knowing I'm about to step into a world of chic boutiques, magnificent buildings, andā¦ ballet, of course!
This week, Iām whisking you away to the heart of Paris with my top picks from my latest trip. My agenda included catching up with friends at a ballet performance at the Palais Garnier, a ballet class at a quaint Parisian studio (let's just say my tutu took a whirl amongst the Eiffel Tower's reflection!), and exploring the most whimsical vintage shops. My inner fashionista was certainly buzzing!
A Parisian Ballet Dream at the Palais Garnier
The Palais Garnier is a monument to theatre and dance, its ornate interior truly breathtaking. The sound of the orchestra filling the vast hall sent shivers down my spine as I slipped into my seat. Seeing āGiselleā come to life with its haunting score, intricate steps and the poignant story, had me absolutely mesmerised. Even though I am familiar with the story of Giselle, the raw emotions that each dancer evoked left me wanting more. And, naturally, my favourite pink tulle adorned several costumes in the production ā how could I resist a snap or two for the 'Gram?
Taking Ballet Class in Paris
Let's face it, any ballet class is a treat, but one with the iconic Eiffel Tower peering through the studio window, with its Parisian sunshine reflecting on the wood floor? Divine! My little Parisian ballerina class was in the heart of Montmartre, and it was an absolute joy. After our warm up, the instructorās voice boomed out as we pirouetted our way through an elegant barre routine and the glorious centre practice. A little pink tulle definitely adds that extra layer of magic.
Fashion Find at Le Marais
My journey to Le Marais for vintage shopping led me to an incredible little boutique tucked away in a cobbled street. It was packed with vintage dresses and scarves that would have had Audrey Hepburn swooning. I couldn't resist picking up a gorgeous silk scarf for my tutu outfit and a playful pink beret to match. Of course, my Instagram followers are all aware that a vintage Paris hat is essential for a pink-tutu look, and this one didn't disappoint! I feel so much more stylish when I have that touch of French elegance with a pink-tutu twist.
Pink Tutu Power
As you know, dear friends, I'm always championing the power of pink tulle and I feel it's a wonderful reminder to bring a touch of joy and creativity to everyday life. Even here in Paris, the city of style, wearing a pink tutu made me feel even more empowered and happy to explore. Every head turned!
Food, Glorious Parisian Food
Whatās a trip to Paris without indulgence? This week, I was completely spoilt for choice, but the real highlights were undoubtedly a warm, buttery croissant in a local cafĆ© (perfect for my tutu twirls!), a picnic with fresh cheese and wine in the Jardin du Luxembourg and a decadent hot chocolate at a quaint chocolate shop. Every bite tasted absolutely divine!
