Hello my lovelies! It's your favourite tutu-wearing adventurer, Emma, back with another post from the beautiful City of Lights! Paris! I've been dreaming of this trip for ages, and guess what? I'm here, finally, with my trusty pink tutu in tow, of course.
This trip was a bit of a whirlwind to pull together. Balancing my ballet performances, choreography gigs and trying to save enough for a European adventure was tricky! I'm a firm believer in funding your own dreams, though, so I dug deep into my ballet shoes (no pun intended!), and booked that EuroStar ticket. And let me tell you, there's nothing more magical than hurtling through the English Channel in a pink tutu, it's pure joy!
Paris truly does feel like a magical place! Every corner you turn has a touch of romance, a dash of chic, and maybe even a sprinkle of that 'je ne sais quoi' we all try to embody. It's a place where fashion flows like the Seine River, where the streets are your runway, and the museums are your gallery. I'm soaking it all in, from the majestic Eiffel Tower (which I swear, seems to twinkle a bit brighter in the presence of a pink tutu!), to the charming cafés and bistros filled with delicious pastries and that warm Parisian sunshine.

Now, onto this week's exciting adventure! Paris, in the heart of winter, is alive with magical energy. I just had to be here to catch the famous Christmas Markets, filled with delicious smells and handcrafted treasures, and even a few twinkling twirls under the snowy trees! (And yes, my tutu had a lovely layer of sparkly snowflakes clinging to it - a fashion statement, if you will!)
And, as it's January, Paris has been celebrating 'Festivals & Traditions', a whole month dedicated to showcasing all sorts of vibrant Parisian culture and activities. My favourite? The "Parisian Ball"! This spectacular ball is held annually in the iconic Palais Garnier opera house, and is an ode to all things theatrical, flamboyant and undeniably beautiful. It was pure glamour from the moment I stepped in. The costumes, the atmosphere, the dancing - it's impossible to describe the magic unless you experience it yourself. I definitely added it to my list of 'must-dos' for future trips!
And, of course, Paris wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Opéra Garnier itself. Just imagine! Walking past those grand staircases and through those breathtaking halls, all in my signature pink tutu, feels like a dream. The artistry of the building itself, along with the performances it hosts, simply took my breath away!
Now, as you know, I'm always on the lookout for some seriously fantastic ballet and theatre. This weekend, I got to see the iconic Giselle performed at the Palais Garnier. Giselle is a ballet masterpiece, a perfect combination of ethereal grace and emotional depth, and it brought tears to my eyes! The story is incredibly powerful and captivating.
Shopping is always a treat in Paris!
One thing you can never get enough of in Paris is the sheer endless charm of shopping! For my visit, I opted for the delightful vintage boutiques around the Marais area. I found some fabulous pink treasures (of course) including a beautiful vintage jacket with sparkling rhinestones and a silk scarf with the most adorable Parisian scenes! It was a shopping adventure like no other!

As a special treat, I decided to take a little stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg! The air was crisp and the park was simply buzzing with energy, all kinds of people, kids, tourists, couples. I love this about Paris; it's a place for everyone to embrace their individuality! As always, my pink tutu drew a few glances (a playful one here, an envious one there). And I have to admit, it felt good to see the delight in people's faces when they caught sight of the pink. It makes me feel like my mission is going well; getting the whole world wearing pink tutus!
I've got so many more plans for this magical city! More Parisian adventures, more ballet and theater, more shopping!
