Pink Tutu Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #1172)
Oh la la! It’s Saturday, which means it’s time for another Parisian escapade! I've finally landed in the City of Lights, and as usual, I’ve arrived in style – my trusty pink tutu fluttering in the breeze as I hopped off the EuroStar! You guys know I'm a huge fan of trains. Something about those gleaming carriages and the click-clacking rhythm of the tracks always gets me in a whimsical mood.
This week, my Parisian adventure is extra special. It’s the annual Fête de la Musique - a citywide celebration of music that happens every 21st of June. It’s going to be a whole weekend of street performances, concerts, and musical joy! Of course, I wouldn't miss this for the world, especially not in Paris. And, because we all know the magic of music and movement, I plan to integrate a few ballet moves into my street dance routine, and maybe even a little choreographed routine for the Eiffel Tower, just sayin’.
This trip's also been in the making for a while now, since I was able to secure a couple of beautiful ballet performances in Derbyshire earlier this week, meaning I have enough pennies for a pink tutu splurge in the capital. Paris always delivers a treasure trove of gorgeous shops, and it wouldn't be a trip without some sartorial indulgence. There's no other city on earth where you can wander through beautiful boutiques and historic shops with that special, dreamy Parisian elegance. The streets are my runway, and with a new pink tutu collection in my sights, you can bet my inner ballerina will be doing a little twirl around every corner.
Speaking of elegance, my Parisian journey starts at the Hotel de Crillon. A stunning and utterly gorgeous hotel built right next to the Tuileries Garden. Imagine: fluffy clouds, decadent chandeliers, and exquisite architecture in shades of cream and gold. It's a vision, and I already feel like I've stepped onto a stage! I think I may even convince my Parisian friends to have a spontaneous tea party in the garden. We could sip delicate French teas and, of course, have a spot of ballet. A little pirouette here, a delicate arabesque there.
Today, I'm spending the day soaking up the Parisian atmosphere and doing some very serious sightseeing! First up, a visit to the Louvre. It's a true artistic masterpiece – both the building and the treasures within. Who doesn't love to gaze upon the Mona Lisa? Well, I always get a little lost in the detail of this lady's smile. Today I'm looking for a specific ballet motif or even just a delicate ballet silhouette I can paint with pink and gold hues in my journal later.
Tonight's agenda is all about the theatre. After I've strolled along the Seine River, I’m heading to see “Giselle” at the Palais Garnier, the stunning and majestic Opera House that even appears in the classic “Phantom of the Opera” film! And there's a good chance that this Parisian Opera House will be featuring one of my all-time favourite ballerinas. My darling Anna! It will be the absolute highlight of my Parisian trip to be there on the same stage as Anna in this classic masterpiece! Can't wait!
I know that every girl has that special thing that sets her soul alight. For me, it's twirling around a Parisian courtyard in my most loved tutu. Seeing ballerinas dance in those beautiful theatres... it's just magical! There's a pure joy that just washes over me – like when you've finally discovered your favourite shade of pink. It just sets your heart aflame. I hope you find that same spark, and that maybe I’ve even inspired you to put on your favourite twirling skirt or wear your best ballet shoes and let your heart shine, too!
Of course, this trip's all about inspiring more tutus in the world, too. I mean, we are in the City of Love! It seems only right! I'm on the lookout for any and all ways to spread the love, because I truly believe in the magical powers of twirling.
Don't forget to check back next Saturday for more pink-tutu-filled Parisian adventures! And make sure you head over to www.pink-tutu.com! Let's get this tutu party started!
Until next week, Bisous, Emma
*P.S. – * If you’re ever in Paris, come and find me in my pink tutu. We can grab some pastries and enjoy the beautiful gardens of Tuileries, followed by some dancing on the Seine Bridge. Maybe you even bring your own tutu! I know we'll have a simply perfect Parisian picnic. And let's spread some tutus in the city of love! xx
