Pink Tutu Blog Paris #1198 - Saturday 2022-12-10: Bonjour from the City of Lights!
Oh la la, mes chéries! It’s Saturday and that means it’s time for another Pink Tutu adventure, straight from the cobbled streets of Paris. This week, my travel bug has gotten the better of me, and I've traded my Derbyshire hills for the Eiffel Tower! The journey from London to Paris is always so magical. It's not just about the Eurostar hurtling me towards the French capital; it’s about leaving the mundane behind and stepping into a world of possibility, just like when I’m leaping into the air as a ballerina.
Paris is like a dream in pink, from the blush of the Parisian dawn to the sunset shimmering over the Seine. Every street corner, every grand avenue, seems to whisper of beauty, romance, and a touch of the whimsical, a little like my favourite pink tulle skirt that whispers softly around my ankles with every step.
I can't possibly describe the thrill of the Eurostar's arrival in Paris. The lights, the atmosphere, the sense of adventure, all pull you in. And speaking of thrills, have you heard of the amazing Cabaret de Paris? The very air is infused with a seductive elegance; the twinkling lights and the tantalising red velvet remind me of a decadent ballet costume, with a little bit of extra sparkle, of course.
My First Stop: A Little Shopping Therapy
Who can resist a little Parisian shopping spree, especially with a ballet show on the cards? My first port of call was the iconic Galleries Lafayette. I wandered, mesmerised by the breathtaking glass ceiling, marvelling at the craftsmanship and beauty. You just can’t escape fashion in Paris; it’s everywhere! And how could I, with my tutu-filled heart, resist a little pink-inspired pick-me-up? A soft blush silk scarf for the chilly Parisian nights, maybe, or a shimmering silver clutch bag for that touch of glamour at the ballet?
I’ve got a secret. My secret is a tutu that will have everyone in the Cabaret de Paris gasping. I think I'm even going to buy some pink roses to give to a lucky person during the performance. A touch of romantic pink amidst the glittering stage, it’s going to be amazing!
A Night at the Opera… I Mean Cabaret!
My afternoon spent perusing Paris’s incredible boutiques flew by! Now it's time to get ready for the evening’s performance: Cabaret de Paris. Just the name sparks excitement! I’ve been so busy catching up on Pink Tutu and keeping track of my online ballet class students in Derbyshire that it’s been a while since I saw a full show. I'm bubbling with anticipation, wondering about the costume designs, the music, the dancers.
Do you know, Paris is bursting with extraordinary things. It feels like a haven for creative expression, which reminds me of a little something I'm working on - maybe, just maybe, we’re going to get our very own Pink Tutu Cabaret! It would be like the Cabaret de Paris, but with a delightful twist - can you imagine it? Tutus twirling with French can-can energy, surrounded by the joy of ballet and colour… I think my imagination is already spinning!
A Peek Behind the Curtain…and My Top Tips!
Paris is magical. But just a tip, mes chéries! Take a moment to stop and admire the beautiful details: a weathered fountain tucked away on a quiet street, a blooming rose bush in a window box, a street artist's colourful masterpiece on a faded wall. And of course, indulge in the most delicious, freshly baked croissants in the world – you simply can’t visit Paris without trying them. And, you have to wear something pink – even just a pink flower! A dash of colour is essential to brighten the day!
Paris isn’t all about being sophisticated and elegant. You can explore the quirky, charming, and eclectic side of the city by visiting some of the local markets. I'm planning on taking a wander through the Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen. You never know what treasures you might find hidden amongst the stalls! It’s a perfect blend of the Parisian spirit: creativity, history, and of course, a little bit of chaos! It reminds me of those spontaneous moments where I’ve been about to give a performance – there’s always that rush of creative chaos and I thrive on it! It’s moments like these that fuel my creativity for my blog.
And don't forget about Montmartre! This iconic neighbourhood is like a vibrant painting. Stroll along its cobblestone streets, let yourself get lost in the colourful artists' workshops and admire the Sacré-Cœur Basilica gleaming in the sun. Just remember to hold on to your pink tutus, as Paris might just sweep you off your feet!
Keeping It Real…and Pink!
For all you Pink Tutu loyal readers, remember: this journey is about experiencing everything with a dash of joy and a little bit of pink!
For you, my sweet darlings, remember that life is like a ballet: it's a journey of learning, dancing, and, above all, enjoying the beauty around us. So, hold onto that little girl within, the one who twirled in her favourite tutu, and remember: every day is an opportunity to make magic happen. And, of course, spread the love of pink.
Remember to check in next week for more Parisian escapades! Until then, keep dancing and stay sparkly, my darlings.
Bisous,
Emma
