Bonjour from Paris!
Post #1203 – Paris Fashion Week
Bonjour, my darling readers! I hope you are all having a fabulous Saturday. It's Paris! The City of Lights! The City of Love! I can't believe I'm here. Oh, la la! I’ve always wanted to visit Paris, and now it’s happening! It’s all very exciting – I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming when the EuroStar pulled into the Gare du Nord yesterday afternoon. I'm wearing my new bright pink tutu with sparkly silver butterflies - I had to get it especially for my trip.
Paris is such an enchanting city - everything feels so glamorous and romantic. I love the cobblestone streets and all the gorgeous architecture. The whole place smells divine! There are flowers and bread everywhere. Oh, the smells!
So let me tell you about my journey!
I’ve been looking forward to this trip for months, planning the outfits, and dreaming of all the incredible sights and experiences Paris has to offer! I can’t believe that I've never been before, I love France, so it was so amazing to see it. My trusty pink suitcase was packed with enough outfits for at least a week (with my ballet shoes hidden away in my extra special compartment, of course).
You know, it was such a relief to get out of the frosty Derbyshire winter and into the magical warmth of the Eurostar train! You all know that I just love a train journey, don't you?
The carriage was so beautiful and modern and spacious - perfect for practicing my jeté à la seconde - the other passengers didn’t seem to mind at all.
I had the window seat and, of course, got myself a beautiful latte and an excellent pain au chocolat - I could not resist it! It tasted heavenly.
Oh, but then… a magical sight met my eyes: an enchanting display of delicate little cupcakes - an abundance of pink and blush and white macarons! It's not that often I see a bakery that serves only pink macarons… I am so utterly smitten!
I have to say that even though my travel journey started quite early (as usual!) everything seemed effortless, almost like the Paris trip was preordained! I mean, I feel like it was meant to be.
Paris Fashion Week!
It's the reason I'm here, of course. It’s all about fashion this week in Paris. The streets are packed with fabulous designers and even more fabulous influencers and models, and I love it. This place buzzes with a glamorous, international energy - you feel the creative and artistic magic radiating everywhere you go!
Last night, I wandered around the city until quite late and saw my first haute couture runway show! You wouldn’t believe how elegant and stylish everything was. The models looked incredible, the costumes were utterly fabulous and the designs were truly spectacular! It's going to be my goal to design something that ends up on the runway next year. I've already started planning and sketching some fabulous tutu ideas.
Speaking of which - did I tell you that I'm planning to spend a day visiting a dance studio?
Ooh, I'm going to see some beautiful choreography!
I've already planned the tutu I'm going to wear (and yes, it is, of course, pink!), as well as some beautiful silk ballerina pumps I’m sure are going to make my dance journey very elegant.
Today's Plans...
Today’s main mission is going to be an incredible new dress boutique I discovered. I will be getting an exclusive new outfit. You won't want to miss next week's post for pictures - trust me.
Then it's going to be all about the shops and the boutiques - ooh, there is a lot of inspiration here in Paris - a real treasure trove of inspiration! You can’t help but feel creative and glamorous here, which is always fun, right?
Paris in pink is certainly going to be an unforgettable experience and one I won’t be forgetting for a long time to come. It's the perfect excuse for me to have a long weekend of luxurious exploration, fabulous fashion and - most important of all - of course - the ultimate French ballerina experience.
It is what I was made for!
I can't wait to tell you more about it all, my darling readers. I shall be back next week with all the fashion and design inspirations Paris has to offer, along with plenty of stories from the world of ballet! And yes, my outfit choices too! Oh, I am excited, my readers!
À bientôt,
Emma x
