#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #1204: Paris, je t'aime!
Bonjour mes amies! It's Emma here, your resident Pink Tutu girl, and guess what? I'm in Paris! I took the Eurostar on Friday ā I absolutely love those trains! Theyāre so comfy and sleek, and it felt like stepping into a chic little bubble of luxurious travel. As usual, I packed my pink suitcase with my favourite frocks and of course, several sparkly tutus (because a girl can never have too many, right?).
Itās Saturday now, and Iām sitting at my adorable little window seat in my Parisian hotel room (more about that later!), sipping my French coffee (just as strong as I like it!) and catching up on all things Paris. Today, Iām going to be writing about everything Iāve gotten up to so far. You know me, I canāt keep a secret for long!
But first, a quick hello to all my wonderful #PinkTutuGirls back in Derbyshire. Did you all have a great week? I miss you all so much! Donāt forget to wear a pink tutu at least once this week! It makes everything a little more magical, promise!
Okay, letās get into the Paris shenanigansā¦
Travel by Eurostar:
It's a truth universally acknowledged that no trip to Paris is complete without a train journey through the channel. It's romantic, exciting and definitely more stylish than a plain old airplane! As always, I wore my lucky pink beret, and a blush-toned dress, perfect for swirling in, with a little sequined tulle skirt. You've got to add a bit of glamour to even the simplest things, wouldn't you agree?
A Parisian Hideaway:
As for my hotel, I've chosen a delightful boutique hotel right in the heart of the Marais. Itās got this stunning floral print wallpaper, fluffy pink towels and, best of all, it's near everything! We're talking, charming boutiques, traditional Parisian bistros with checkered tablecloths (just like you see in the movies!), and even a fantastic boulangerie just down the street, so I can start my day with fresh croissants! What more could a girl ask for? I'll post some pics of it later this week ā keep an eye out on the Instagram feed!
Pink & Pinker
This morning, my love for pink has officially been ignited. I found the most exquisite little vintage shop ā the sort that would have Coco Chanel in awe. And they have so much pink, darling! Pink shoes, pink purses, pink lace everything. I bought a magnificent blush-pink scarf for myself, as well as a tiny velvet pink box, for my mum ā it's the perfect thing for storing all her trinkets. Itās definitely time to add āParis vintage huntingā to the list of my absolute favourite things!
The City of Lights & Ballet
I just had to squeeze in a ballet show, of course! Paris has so much incredible theatre going on ā I was in my element, from the red carpet arrivals to the hushed awe as the music started. And my tutu was perfectly in sync with the whole affair, obviously. I saw "Giselle," and oh, the emotions, the beauty, the story, and the dancers! You guys, the sheer artistry was stunning! There was a part where Giselle had to do this twirling solo with these delicate steps that were so captivating I practically stood up to applaud.
Speaking of which, have any of you been watching "Dancing with the Stars" this year? They're all getting so good, but I've got my eyes on the ballerina ā her lines and grace are incredible! The ballerina in the āGiselleā show even reminded me of the show's lead ballerina!
I managed to grab some photos outside the theatre. (See? It all matches my outfit!) Maybe I'll do a special Pink Tutu ballet photo shoot next week. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see it.
Dinner at Chez Antoinette
And to top off the perfect evening, I had dinner at āChez Antoinetteā ā a little Parisian bistro in Montmartre. Itās one of the most delightful spots youāll find. They do these incredible platters with charcuterie, creamy Brie, fresh fruit and little warm breads, all accompanied by a crisp French wine, naturally. The waiter even wore a red beret, it was like a charming scene from a film. If youāre looking for a quintessential Parisian dining experience, this place is a must!
Fashion & Shopping Galore!
Oh darling, I cannot express how wonderful Parisian style is! Itās truly all about those timeless classics, mixed with little chic details ā silk scarves, perfectly tailored trousers and blouses with romantic floral prints. The shops here are all about elegance and quality. Even the street style is chic, the women here, just ooze sophistication, even when they're running for the metro!
I actually discovered the best little hidden treasure this afternoon: a charming boutique called "La Petite Soeur" which means "the little sister.ā Itās so adorable! And youāll never guess whatā¦itās all pink! Yes, really! They have amazing, vintage-inspired dresses, shoes, and hats in every shade of pink. It felt like being inside a whimsical candy box! You can find them near the Palais Royal.
But of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a stop at the infamous Galeries Lafayette, the flagship department store. (Itās truly magnificent!) They have amazing fashion and makeup sections that are both glamorous and indulgent. Iām considering going back later in the week to try out one of their little French makeup salons.
Whereās the Love for the Tutu?
I've noticed that although tutus are so synonymous with Paris (what with the ballet scene, you know), I havenāt seen very many Parisian women sporting them on the streets! You wouldn't catch a Parisian man in a pink tutu. Donāt they know itās just a little something that instantly brightens any day? Itās time to get those tutus out ladies! Even a pink beanie will do, anything to sprinkle some Pink Tutu Magic into the world, just a dash, right?
My Big Pink Tutu Challenge
Since weāre talking pink, hereās my challenge to you. Let's do a Pink Tutu Parade. Itās simple: snap a pic of yourself wearing a pink tutu (even a sparkly headband will do, for the boys). Add the hashtag #PinkTutuParade and upload it to Instagram, Twitter or your favourite social media platform. If enough people do it, it's going to become an event! Maybe it could be next weekend. Iām hoping that we can turn Paris pink by next Saturday ā that's a goal, darling. Imagine the Eiffel Tower with pink streamers, what a view that would be.
I will be, of course, posting a few new snaps from my Parisian explorations on the @pinktutublog Instagram, so come on over, and join in on the fun! Itās the best place to get daily updates.
I can't wait to continue my adventures here in Paris and explore some new places ā next on my list: The Louvre, SacrĆ©-CÅur and of course, some more chic shopping. I have so many photos and stories, I'll have you ladies updated weekly!
