Bonjour from Paris! Pink Tutu Blog Post #1205 🩰🇫🇷
Hello, darlings! It's Emma, and you know what day it is… Saturday, which means a brand-new Paris adventure! This week, I've hopped on the Eurostar, with my trusty pink suitcase filled with sparkly dreams, and headed straight to the City of Lights. This week, Paris has become my own personal twirling haven, a place where I can fully embrace my inner ballerina. So buckle up, buttercups, and get ready for a pink-tinted whirlwind!
As you all know, I can’t resist a bit of adventure, especially when it comes to exploring the world's most stylish cities. And let's be honest, Paris is pretty much synonymous with fashion, right? The air practically crackles with chicness here.
This weekend, my pink tutu is going to be making appearances in all sorts of fantastic locations, from the majestic Opéra Garnier, which I have definitely planned to visit at least three times (a girl's gotta have options!), to the charming boutiques lining the streets of Le Marais, where I’ll be on the lookout for some seriously fabulous Parisian finds. Oh, the shopping I’m going to do!
Pink Dreams & Parisian Flair
Honestly, you could practically feel the glamour just wafting off the Parisian cobblestones as I hopped off the Eurostar and took in my first breaths of that wonderful Parisian air. There's a certain je ne sais quoi about this city that gets under your skin, and, dare I say it, I just feel so at home here.
The very first thing I had to do when I got to my hotel was unpack and pick out the perfect tutu for the day’s adventures! I've brought quite a collection, darling – there’s my shimmery blush pink one with silver tulle, my lavender tulle number for when I want to add a hint of elegance to my twirls, and even a bold fuschia pink one that's perfect for grabbing attention!
Speaking of attention, my first Paris adventure was a visit to the glorious Palais Garnier. Just stepping into this beautiful building with its intricate carvings and dazzling chandeliers felt like I was entering a fairytale. Can you imagine dancing a pas de deux beneath these ceilings? I couldn’t resist getting a photo in front of the iconic grand staircase, feeling absolutely regal and poised in my pastel pink tulle tutu, just a dash of colour amidst the rich elegance.
From Fashion to Ballet – It’s all about Expression!
From my pink-tinted Parisian musings, you’ve probably gathered that Paris is like a gigantic fairytale to me. Every street corner seems to burst with inspiration for my ballet practice. Every shop window, every cafe with its Parisian chic vibes, even the cobblestones themselves!
The energy here is electric and it’s completely contagious. Whether it’s watching the talented performers at the Musée Grévin wax museum bring to life the works of great artists, or being blown away by the street art adorning the city's walls, I can't help but feel motivated to express myself creatively.
I must admit that I even found a charming little ballet studio hidden away in a quiet corner of the city. The teacher, Madame Colette, was so incredibly welcoming, even though my French is… well, shall we say a little rusty.
The atmosphere in the studio was amazing. A whole world of emotions poured out onto the dance floor; there was grace and strength, excitement and passion, and most importantly, sheer joy!
You’d think it was pretty obvious by now that I can’t resist a little Parisian fashion indulgence when I'm in town! But today was a truly special treat because I discovered a little hidden gem of a vintage shop tucked away down a side street in the Latin Quarter. The owner, an absolutely charming gentleman called Jacques, practically had tears in his eyes when he saw me in my pink tulle tutu – apparently he thought it was the epitome of Parisian style, haha!
Inside, he had the most wonderful collection of vintage accessories and dresses. Imagine a collection of sparkling vintage necklaces, lace gloves, and vintage handbags just begging to be worn! My favourite find was an antique mirror in a silver frame that would look simply perfect on my dressing table. Of course, I've bought myself a tiny gift: a beret with a feather - a very Parisian look indeed, I'm so delighted!
Paris, Food & the Pink Tutu: A Match Made in Heaven!
If you haven’t worked it out yet, Paris isn’t all about the ballet, and fashion and theatre… though it is! But I also love to explore new culinary adventures in every city I visit. In Paris, food truly is an art form – like, wow!
A favourite from today’s food journey was at the famous Pâtisserie des Rêves. Their pastry chef is seriously a magician. He’s a total artist! Honestly, these little delights taste just as beautiful as they look. It was so delicious that I almost cried into my sugar-coated raspberry creation, which felt so quintessentially Parisian, sitting at an outdoor café with the sights, sounds, and delicious aroma of the city all around me.
Of course, no Paris trip is complete without some truly scrumptious food and today was the perfect excuse for a divine lunch at my favourite restaurant, Le Petit Moulin. Their mushroom soup is simply to die for! Imagine a bowl of creamy, aromatic bliss, perfect for a cozy lunchtime in a delightful French café with all the atmosphere you could ever wish for! It even inspired my ballet routine!
It’s Saturday Night: Paris in All its Glory!
Now, as we come to the end of another incredible Parisian day, I’ve planned an absolute delight – a visit to the stunning Théâtre du Châtelet. You might already be familiar with this stunning architectural wonder if you’ve seen the spectacular production of 'The Phantom of the Opera', or maybe even the mesmerizing world of dance in a ballet production. Well, tonight, I'll be experiencing it for myself, my pink tutu shimmering beneath the stage lights, with a little bit of Parisian magic mixed in!
Oh, my love for Paris!
For those of you wondering about my week’s schedule, you can check out my detailed travel blog on my website – www.pink-tutu.com – it’s a whirlwind, but one I wouldn’t trade for the world. I can’t wait to see you all there next Saturday when I'll be sharing the Paris highlights of my trip with you all! Until then, be sure to channel your inner ballerina and don a little pink for the weekend!
Au revoir, darlings! Emma xx
