Pink Tutu Blog Paris - #1220: Bonjour from the City of Lights!
Bonjour, darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, back from the most magical trip to Paris! I'm sitting in my little hotel room, which is the most gorgeous pastel pink with a chandelier, surrounded by my latest purchases, and I can already tell this is going to be a fab week!
This trip was particularly special, as I finally made my long-awaited journey via EuroStar. If you haven't tried it yet, you simply MUST! It's like travelling through a luxurious dream; smooth sailing, beautiful scenery, and enough champagne to fill a tutu (not that I would ever actually fill a tutu with bubbly!). Honestly, I think it's the perfect way to arrive in Paris.
The minute I stepped out of Gare du Nord, the magic began. I mean, Paris is pretty much magical wherever you go, but something about that fresh Parisian air made me want to twirl. Thankfully, my trusty pink tulle tutu is ALWAYS packed (you know, for emergencies!), and I took the chance to capture some pics with the Eiffel Tower in the background. #PinkTutuParisDreams, right?
I've been keeping a record of every little thing I've been up to - it's just so jam-packed with fantastic moments, it needs to be documented! Here's what I got up to this week, in all its pink-tinted glory...
Day 1: Parisian Delights & a Spot of Ballet! After settling in at the hotel, I had a serious case of "must-see-the-city" and hopped on the metro, heading straight to Montmartre! Now, if you haven't experienced the beauty of Sacré-Cœur Basilica, I recommend adding it to your bucket list immediately. I wandered around the neighbourhood, enjoying the charming Parisian atmosphere, stopping for a cuppa and some divine macarons, obviously!
You know me, always looking for a bit of ballet inspiration. And what better way to soak it all in than with a stunning performance at the Palais Garnier? I went to see "La Bayadère", and oh my, I could've cried from the beauty! It's just that kind of performance that makes you believe in dreams and fairies and everything magical. It's all a little bit dramatic, but who doesn't love a bit of Parisian drama, am I right?
Day 2: Shopping Splendour & A Fashion Find!Okay, darlings, I cannot stress this enough, Paris is a shopping paradise. Especially for a tutu-loving girl like me! I found the most incredible tutu shop on Rue Saint-Honoré - a little boutique filled with sparkling tutus and dazzling leotards. They even had a pink tulle top with glitter - just divine! I think my card got a bit of a workout that day, but hey, a girl has to treat herself every now and again, right?
As evening arrived, I decided to ditch the sparkly ballet wear for a more sophisticated ensemble - a pink, flowing dress with a touch of tulle (naturally) paired with some sassy black heels. I dined like royalty at the famous Les Deux Magots, people-watching while sipping on my wine (in a champagne flute, of course!). And wouldn't you know it, a famous French ballet dancer just happened to be sitting at the table next to me! We had a delightful chat, exchanging stories about the ballet world. It was just a beautiful, serendipitous Parisian moment.
Day 3: Exploring the Louvre & Ballet Class!Another day, another exciting adventure! You simply can't visit Paris without experiencing the Louvre. And my oh my, it lived up to all the hype! It was just astounding! I spent hours getting lost in art, finding myself particularly enchanted by "The Raft of the Medusa" by Géricault. It's like an incredible piece of theatre frozen in time - very inspiring for a ballerina.
Later that evening, I indulged in one of my favourite pastimes - a ballet class! Now, you can't beat a Parisian ballet class. I learned a new routine with the most talented instructors. We had a real giggle, trying out new moves, perfecting our pirouettes. My fellow classmates were lovely, including a young girl who I suspect was actually a ballerina-in-training. She had so much natural talent - I couldn't help but give her a pink tutu ribbon to match her ballet bun. It was lovely! We danced until our toes were tired, feeling energized and ready to conquer Paris!
Day 4: Discovering Hidden Treasures and Indulging in Pink!A little bird told me about a cute café in Le Marais called "L'Atelier de la Tentation". It was bursting with colour and whimsy, and of course, I had to snag a delicious macaron and a slice of pink-frosted cake. It was such a sweet spot - a little bit of Paris hidden away from the busy streets. I actually sat outside in the courtyard for ages, simply soaking in the warm sunshine, admiring my Parisian-pink surroundings.
As the afternoon unfolded, I strolled through the charming little shops and boutiques, uncovering some hidden fashion gems - a Parisian-inspired straw hat with pink ribbon (to wear with my tutu, obviously!) and a beautiful pink silk scarf that's destined to become a statement piece in my wardrobe. Oh, and of course, I couldn't leave Paris without adding to my collection of French perfumes - a little treat for myself!
Day 5: A Touch of Romance and A Performance ExtraordinaireEvery Parisian day feels magical, but something about Day 5 just had this certain je ne sais quoi - the perfect mix of romance and elegance. I treated myself to a boat trip along the Seine River, the Eiffel Tower glistening in the sunset. It was the most romantic scene I could have imagined, and the Seine just felt like something out of a dream.
That night, the pièce de résistance - I had tickets to see the incredible "Swan Lake" at the Opéra Bastille. It was a performance to remember! The ballerina's portrayal of Odette was breathtaking - she really captured the grace and sorrow of the story. And as usual, I let my pink tutu fly as I left the theatre, feeling absolutely enchanted by the whole experience!
Final Thoughts: Parisian Kisses and Tutu Dreams!Honestly, my pink tutu and I were in heaven during this Paris trip. I soaked in the beautiful scenery, sampled exquisite cuisine, explored charming Parisian boutiques, and of course, danced my heart out in some of the most spectacular ballet venues. The city truly is enchanting! It inspires my dreams, fuels my fashion inspiration, and feeds my soul with beautiful music and captivating art. It just reminds me how much magic and wonder exist in this world, and I just know I'll be back for another Parisian adventure very soon!
And remember, darlings, a little pink goes a long way, and there's always a reason to twirl! I can't wait to share more adventures with you all soon, but for now, let's embrace the joy and beauty of life!
Sending you Parisian kisses!
Emma xoxo
