Bonjour, mes chéries! It’s Emma here, back with you from the most magical city in the world - Paris! I finally took the plunge and booked the EuroStar for a weekend of Parisian delights, and oh my, it’s already living up to every dream I’ve ever had.
It feels utterly fitting to start this Paris adventure with the number 1221. I can't explain why, but 1221 is the magic number in my head, linked to pink, to Parisian elegance, to my love of ballet... It all just flows. So, for my 1221st blog post (yes, you’ve been following me since I started this journey back in the days of floral headbands and unicorn-printed leggings!), I thought a Paris-themed blog would be perfection.
It’s Saturday morning in Paris, and I’m sipping my café au lait in the chicest little bistro on a cobbled street. Sunlight is dancing through the branches of a nearby chestnut tree, and I'm watching a mime, completely enthralled, with my fluffy pink tutu rustling in the breeze. Even here, amidst the Parisian grandeur, the tutu feels right at home, perfectly embodying my girly side and love of performance. I can already feel this Parisian escape becoming a masterpiece of pink-tutu-inspired adventures, so buckle up, darling, because it’s going to be an absolute dream!
Travel to Paris in Style - A Ballerina’s EuroStar Dream
The EuroStar journey from Derbyshire was absolutely magical. The high-speed train gliding through the English countryside, and then hurtling onwards towards France – I even had a fellow passenger on the train with a small suitcase bursting with pointe shoes, just like me. (There’s always a connection with other dance lovers, you know?!) I even got to spot a lone flamingo at the nearby station in France! Who needs the Eiffel Tower when you’ve got pink flamingos? 😉
Speaking of pink, I’m wearing the new Rose Whisper tutu – all layers of tulle in delicate pastel shades, with just a hint of gold shimmering underneath. It’s perfect for walking the charming cobblestone streets of Paris, twirling with the grace of a ballerina as I explore this romantic city.
Fashion in Paris – Inspiration in Every Boutique
Today, I’m on a quest to find the perfect pair of shoes for an evening gala performance at the Opéra Garnier. Paris is a haven for shoe lovers - every street seems to be lined with shops showcasing exquisite footwear, with each pair telling a story of craftsmanship, creativity and elegance. This afternoon, I’ve had a whirl through the Parisian department stores and vintage boutiques - and even scored myself a bargain! The "Rue de Rivoli" is a treasure trove, and a must-see for all stylish adventurers.
Shopping for Ballet Bliss – Ballet Street Fashion Finds
And speaking of adventures, a friend recommended "Ballet Street." This iconic Parisian spot for dance fashion and everything ballerina has been an absolute delight. Ballet tutus of every color imaginable - pink, of course, but also vibrant yellows and cool blues – and those intricate pointe shoes… divine! I couldn't resist a little pink-tutu-themed souvenir for myself – a dainty ballet bar brooch, the perfect accessory to adorn my Rose Whisper tutu.
Performances and Culture - Taking Centre Stage
My highlight this weekend is definitely seeing the "Boléro" performance at the Opéra Garnier on Sunday evening. Seeing this iconic piece in this legendary theatre is going to be absolutely breathtaking! Imagine those sweeping choreographed movements under the gilded chandeliers of this Parisian masterpiece. Pure ballet heaven, isn't it? And later on in the evening, a trip to the Parisian cabaret theatre! Who can say no to champagne and the joy of theatrical spectacle? I'm not talking cheesy tourist trap stuff - this place is truly something special - with exquisite music, jaw-dropping costumes, and breathtaking performances that transport you to a world of artistry.
Food and Treats – A French Gastronomic Journey
No trip to Paris is complete without savouring the delights of French cuisine, so of course, I've been indulging in a whole load of deliciousness! The aroma of freshly baked pastries fills the air, drawing me in with promises of buttery croissants, delicate macarons and the sweetest pain au chocolat. And of course, the food at every café I’ve stopped at is so beautifully presented – almost a work of art itself. From flaky cheese soufflés to dainty salads with fragrant dressing, the culinary journey here is an explosion of flavours, textures, and visual appeal!

This weekend has been a whirlwind of pink, tutus, ballet, and all things Parisian! And tomorrow is a big day: A ballet class in the heart of Montmartre! This renowned Parisian hill is steeped in history and artistic energy, and I can already picture myself twirling in my pink tutu at the foot of Sacré-Coeur Basilica. The romantic aura, the quaint cobbled streets, and the artistic energy – this Parisian adventure is just getting started!
