Bonjour from Paris! #PinkTutuBlogParis #1228
Saturday 8th July, 2023
Oh, mon chéri! Bonjour from the City of Lights! My love affair with Paris is as eternal as a swan lake pas de deux, and today I'm whisking you all along on another whirlwind adventure through this glorious city. If you've followed #PinkTutuBlogParis for any length of time, you'll know my love for the Eurostar is only slightly less passionate than my devotion to a perfectly pink tulle tutu. It’s so efficient, comfortable, and oh so chic! It was the perfect way to slip into Parisian magic this morning.
Now, before you accuse me of living in a whimsical world of pink tutus and French pastries, let's get something clear - my love of Paris isn't some saccharine daydream! It's the vibrancy of its people, the sophistication of its fashion, and the soul-stirring artistry that pours out of every cobbled street. I mean, wouldn't you agree? Who else but the Parisians can turn a mundane subway ride into an impromptu ballet showcase?
I kicked off my day with a hearty French breakfast – coffee and croissants – naturally. Then I donned a freshly laundered tutu (a new baby pink creation with silver sparkles – naturally!) before venturing into the city, camera at the ready. The streets of Paris, a playground of Parisian glamour, welcomed me with open arms (and the occasional grumpy taxi driver!).
First up, I decided to check out what all the fuss is about at the infamous Galeries Lafayette. What can I say? A fashion lover’s paradise! They literally have an entire floor dedicated to women’s lingerie and underwear. My pink-loving heart was in absolute heaven. A bit of shopping was just the perfect pick-me-up to fuel my wanderlust for the rest of the day.
As the sun dipped lower, the magic of the city began to twinkle. And what’s better than seeing Parisian twilight glow? Why, experiencing the Grand Palais at night, of course! Yes, I finally got to witness the majestic Parisian Opera Ballet’s performance! It was truly breathtaking, and the sheer size of the grand theatre was humbling. Honestly, you haven't lived until you've witnessed the power of a hundred ballerinas gracefully defying gravity. Talk about achieving peak pink!
After the show, it was time to refuel with some classic French food and good company at a charming cafe. This Parisian institution just wouldn’t feel complete without the quintessential bistro table and an obligatory Parisian waiter who can charm you with his charmingly dismissive Parisian attitude. Oh, the romantic clichés. Don't worry, I'm not complaining. I sipped my café au lait (don't worry, I've started saying it with the proper accent), marvelling at the twinkling Eiffel Tower as the night settled in.
And because a good blog wouldn’t be complete without some fashion inspiration, I have to tell you all about my outfits of the day! For breakfast and strolling, it was a delightful blush pink polka dot midi skirt paired with a fluffy white turtleneck jumper. Oh, and a vintage pink beret, of course! For the opera, it was all about glamour. A full-skirted, shimmery pink tutu with a chic black velvet bolero. And my pink satin ballerina pumps? Well, they just added that perfect finishing touch.
Of course, it’s never just about clothes when you're in Paris, it's also about soaking in the atmosphere. The cobbled streets, the cute cafe culture, the Parisian flair, and even those lovely, well-dressed poodles... The whole city just oozes Parisian cool! But really, can you really blame me? It's impossible to not fall under its charm.
As I pen these words, the Parisian night has taken hold. But trust me, I’m not letting this magic end there. I’m already mapping out the rest of my week. It involves more delicious meals, maybe even another ballet show or two, shopping sprees (what can I say, it's Paris!), and possibly a little dancing in a secret square, too. It is the city of lovers after all.
As for tomorrow, well, you'll just have to wait for my next blog post to find out. Don’t forget, tune in to www.pink-tutu.com next Saturday for all the juicy Parisian updates! And please, spread the love for pink tutus. It’s an unspoken truth that every woman secretly desires a swirl of pink tulle in her life, even if she pretends to disagree. I believe in making those dreams a reality.
Until next time, remember: Always dance to the beat of your own tutu!
*Bisous,
Emma
