Pink Tutu Paris – Post 1236: A Whirlwind of Romance & Ruffle (Saturday, 2023-09-02)
Bonjour, mes chères amies!
It’s Emma here, writing to you from the heart of Paris, the city that makes my tutu twirl with delight. As you know, this week is all about Paris, and trust me, it's living up to the hype!
I arrived in the City of Lights yesterday via the Eurostar - such a civilised way to travel. Honestly, there’s something so chic and efficient about a high-speed train, isn’t there? The whole journey felt like a fashion show, and my fellow passengers looked absolutely stunning, with outfits that wouldn’t be out of place in a Vogue editorial. Naturally, I wore a fabulous pink tutu, and, surprise, surprise, it sparked a conversation! I shared my mission to get everyone twirling in pink tutus and, after sharing some photos of my ballet performances (it's the way I fund these travels!), I made a new friend - a Parisian dancer who is absolutely going to be sporting her very own pink tutu!
Speaking of performances, it's not only my passion but also the driving force behind these Paris escapades. And believe me, there's no shortage of captivating performances in this city! Last night, I watched a breathtaking ballet at the Palais Garnier. Oh my goodness, the sheer grandeur of the building was enough to make my jaw drop, and the performance itself was a mesmerizing blend of grace, strength, and elegance. It reminded me once again why ballet holds such a special place in my heart. I have to admit, a little twirl of inspiration filled my steps on the way back to my hotel!
This morning, I found myself completely mesmerized by the quaint charm of the Latin Quarter. I strolled through narrow cobbled streets, lined with charming cafes and bookstores. Imagine – cafes bursting with Parisian locals sipping espresso and devouring croissants! I, however, opted for a delicious crepe (a sweet one, naturally) topped with a sprinkle of powdered sugar – because you just can't visit Paris without enjoying some of its classic delights. It truly felt like stepping into a movie! I had to try on a beret - just to be in character, of course! I think it complimented my pink tutu just perfectly!
The afternoon brought me face-to-face with some Parisian fashion! What is a trip to Paris without some retail therapy? I am always on the lookout for statement pieces to add to my tutu collection - because, darling, the more twirly the better! Luckily, Paris is overflowing with shops full of fabulous frills and fantastic florals - my two favourite things in the world! I ended up buying a new blush-pink top with little tulle ruffles (to add some extra twirling magic, of course) and a floral-print dress that perfectly captured the elegance of Parisian fashion.
Now, here comes the really fun part. Remember how I mentioned being inspired by those grand performances? I have decided to turn that inspiration into action! You guys already know my favourite ballet in the whole wide world is Swan Lake – its timeless story of love and sacrifice has been on my mind since last night. So I’m dedicating my next blog post to my own, "Emma’s Swan Lake." I've already started gathering materials and ideas, and, I have to confess, it's already turning into a pretty amazing project. Imagine my version of a tutu Swan Lake – I think it will have some unexpected elements, but I can’t say more for now! All I will say is this will be a pink tutu wonderland you’ll want to see for yourselves!
This trip to Paris has already been filled with magical moments and a touch of that "je ne sais quoi" that only Paris can offer. Every step of my journey feels like I’m on a fairy tale.
Speaking of journeys, I know a few of you are asking about where to find your very own pink tutu - well, look no further! On my website, www.pink-tutu.com, you'll find my favorite shops, some fun and informative tips on tutu style, and maybe even some fun new moves for your next twirl! Remember, every day is a chance to live in a little bit of pink tutu magic, no matter where you are. And that’s a message I will be taking with me to the rest of my Paris adventures!
Au revoir, and keep twirling,
Emma
P.S. I’d love to hear what you think of my Parisian escapades, so please leave me a comment on my latest post. I promise to reply as soon as possible!
