Pink Tutu Paris: Post #1250 – Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Bonjour mes amies! It’s Emma, your favourite pink tutu wearing ballerina, and this week, I’m tres excited to be sharing all about my Paris adventure with you!

Paris, the City of Lights, is always on my list of must-visit destinations, and this weekend, I’m finally making it happen. I know you’re probably all wondering, how did a girl who wears pink tutus in Derbyshire, England, manage to end up in Paris? Well, darling, the answer, as always, is ballet!

A few months back, I landed a fantastic gig with the Paris Opera Ballet. They were doing a run of Swan Lake, and I snagged the part of the lead white swan - oh, how I love performing as a swan! They knew I was a little bit… unique… and absolutely insisted on keeping my pink tutu, a nod to my individuality I’m sure. It caused a little bit of a stir during the dress rehearsals, but everyone’s absolutely loved it so far!

But before we get into all the dancing, let’s chat about my arrival! It’s safe to say I’m in love with the Eurostar. Such a smooth, elegant ride through the English countryside to the beautiful heart of Paris. And speaking of the heart of Paris, did I tell you I'm staying at the most gorgeous hotel in the Latin Quarter? It's an absolute dream. There are antique mirrors, elegant drapes, and an absolute feast of gorgeous fabrics in pink! I must tell you, darling, if you ever find yourself in Paris, make sure to request a room with a view. I haven’t quite made up my mind if I prefer gazing out onto the cobbled streets or across to the magnificent Notre Dame. It's almost a toss-up!

But let's be honest, my dear readers, this trip isn't all about luxury hotels. My true love, of course, is the ballet. This Saturday night I’m going to see the most magical show at the Palais Garnier - La Bayadère! The story is just captivating, the costumes are stunning, and the dancers are simply divine. Honestly, you can’t come to Paris without experiencing this iconic theatre. I promise you, it's a true Parisian experience you won’t want to miss.

Paris is a haven for dancers. The streets are filled with students and professional ballerinas alike. It’s magical to see them practising on every street corner - it's like the city is bursting with beauty and graceful movements. And then there’s the Palais Garnier… that majestic, glorious theatre is just breathtaking, and honestly, makes me want to learn to dance all over again.

The shops, of course, are a dancer’s paradise! My shopping bag is filled to the brim with delightful little treasures I know you will all adore. And yes, dear readers, my purchases are all the most delightful shade of pink! Pink tutu is my signature style and everything here - even the pastries - is oh-so-pink!

Speaking of pastries, I simply must talk about my culinary adventures in Paris. Let me tell you, it’s a dream come true! Everything I've tasted has been divine - from the fresh croissants with a lovely cup of coffee in a small Parisian café, to the stunning seafood I had at a local restaurant, to the delightful ice cream I'm planning to buy for a picnic at the Luxembourg Gardens! There is no place on earth, in my humble opinion, where you can have such delicious meals and delectable desserts in a city this stunning.

It's easy to fall in love with Paris. With its charm, beauty and breathtaking views, it really is the city of love. There are so many romantic streets to wander down, gorgeous buildings to admire and so much delicious food to try. There are even some very charming streets just perfect for wearing a pink tutu… I think I'll give it a try!

This Paris adventure will be my longest blog post yet. Oh my goodness! It has so much to offer, from its stunning historical buildings and monuments, to its amazing fashion scene and world-class restaurants. And let’s not forget about all the beautiful and elegant dance schools. I may have to buy a property in the area for my dancers' retirement.

Well, darlings, I can’t wait to share more of my adventures in Paris with you next week, but I must go - a ballet show is about to begin! Au revoir mes amies, and until next time, remember - life is better in a pink tutu!

Love, Emma xx
