Pink Tutu Travels: Bonjour Paris! (Post #1252)

Saturday 23rd December 2023

Hello lovelies!

It’s your favourite tutu-wearing travel blogger Emma, and guess what? I'm back with a brand new Parisian adventure! Cue the fanfare and confetti! After a magical ballet season in Derbyshire, I’ve finally made it to the City of Lights, and it's even more sparkly and magical than I ever imagined!

I decided to kick off my Parisian journey in true Emma fashion - a trip on the Eurostar. It's a little slice of Parisian heaven in itself! The plush seats, the cafe carriage serving delicious croissants (I had one for breakfast - can you blame me?), and the smooth, swift journey made me feel like a princess in my pink tutu. You just can't beat travelling by train, especially when it takes you straight to the heart of the city!

My first stop after checking into my adorable little hotel in the Marais district was a must-do for any ballerina: a visit to the Palais Garnier Opera House! Walking into the grand foyer, it felt like stepping back in time. The incredible architecture, the sweeping staircases, and the chandelier that hung like a jewel box – so breathtaking!

My inner ballerina couldn’t resist taking a tour, where I learned about the building's rich history and saw the beautiful stage where so many famous ballets have been performed. Even without a performance, the atmosphere was electrifying! They have tours throughout the day and evening. Check them out if you are in Paris!

Pink Perfection

Naturally, no trip to Paris would be complete without a spot of shopping. You can never have too many tutus, and this city is full of the most charming boutiques and vintage shops just bursting with Parisian chic. I found myself falling head over heels for a gorgeous blush-pink tutu in a quaint little shop near the Latin Quarter. It's so soft and twirly, I’ve barely been able to take it off.

My fashion instincts tell me you need to wear a tutu everyday and it doesn’t need to be only for dancing. I see you fashionista! Pair it with your favourite pink sweater and some comfy flat shoes, you're ready to tackle the city streets in style!

I also picked up a chic little pink beret at a charming market near Notre Dame, just begging for a photo with the iconic cathedral in the background. Now my Paris wardrobe is truly complete. Don't forget your sparkly ballet flats, too!

Enchanting Evenings

Speaking of things sparkling, I managed to snag tickets to the Nutcracker at the Palais Garnier on Thursday night. I swear I got goosebumps during the Snowflakes scene! There's just something so magical about watching the ballerinas swirl around on that grand stage under the chandelier's twinkling glow.

The evening ended on a perfect note with a warm, delicious hot chocolate at a nearby cafe – a true Parisian indulgence. I couldn't have asked for a more delightful way to spend a Parisian Christmas Eve.

Pink Dreams and Plans

My next couple of days in Paris are full of exciting adventures! I plan on exploring the Montmartre district, admiring the beauty of Sacré-Cœur Basilica, taking in a charming cabaret performance (and maybe getting a little glitter on my cheeks!), and, of course, indulging in more delicious pastries than I can possibly count!

So, be sure to check back next week for another Parisian Pink Tutu adventure. Until then, don't forget to wear your tutu proudly, even if it's just in the comfort of your own home. Every day is a chance to be a ballerina at heart, darling!

Au revoir, for now, from Paris!

Love, Emma
