#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 1267 - Bonjour from Paris, Mon Chéri!

Well, hello there, darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind week in Derbyshire, and back in the heart of Paris, my other favourite city. This Saturday morning, as I sip my cappuccino in the little Parisian cafe that smells of buttery croissants and sunshine, I feel as though I've stepped right back into my own fairy tale. The city is already buzzing with energy, even on a crisp, blue-sky day in April. And trust me, I’m ready to embrace it all, in my favourite shade, pink, of course!

This week's adventures started on Thursday morning with the most magical train journey imaginable. My favourite EuroStar journey to Paris is always such an event! There’s something so romantic and elegant about hopping on a sleek train and waking up a mere 2 hours and 15 minutes later in the City of Lights. As soon as I step off the train at Gare du Nord, it’s like the city comes alive!

It's hard to choose my favourite Parisian experience. Each day is filled with magic, from strolling along the Seine with a bag overflowing with delicious macarons to enjoying a whimsical ballet performance at the Palais Garnier, that beautiful neo-baroque building designed by Charles Garnier that is both grand and magical. The Parisians truly are masters of making life feel like a fairytale.

This time, I found myself drawn to the ballet “Le Sacre du Printemps”, an exploration of both life and death set against the backdrop of an ancient Russian ritual of sacrifice, but what intrigued me even more was the fact it’s staged by the magnificent Opera de Paris. To have a show from the 20th Century at this historically beautiful building gave it another layer of magic. The orchestra of the Opera de Paris was, as always, incredible. The whole theatre, with its gilded architecture, its plush red seats, the stunning chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, made me feel like I'd stepped into another century. If you love ballet like I do, make sure you come to Paris during your ballet season as I know the Parisian ballet fans would definitely recommend coming for a performance or two during the season.

Then, there’s the shopping! Let me tell you, Paris is the ultimate destination for every girl who adores the thrill of a bargain or a unique, chic piece. This week I’ve been indulging my inner shopaholic. This week’s discovery is a cute little boutique in Le Marais called La Fee Tutu. It is full of adorable dresses and tulle skirts perfect for adding a bit of Parisian chic to my wardrobe. Let's just say, a couple of things found their way into my suitcase! (Spoiler alert: you'll be seeing them featured on Instagram soon).

This past week has been a symphony of fashion, food, and art, the Parisian way! From soaking up the ambiance of the iconic SacrĂ©-Coeur basilica with a view across Paris and the stunning Eiffel Tower at dusk, to discovering hidden alleyways and quirky boutiques overflowing with treasures I just had to have. It’s those moments of serendipity that make every journey unique. I even had a chance to attend an impromptu open-air dance session, the vibrant Parisian youth, with their flair for expression and joie de vivre, showing off their ballet skills with gusto! That is something you won’t see often!

But let's face it, nothing truly embodies Parisian magic like a beautiful cafe by the Seine, a glass of French wine in hand, and the laughter of friends mingling around me. My trip here was also full of romantic moments: sharing a picnic under the Eiffel Tower as the sun dipped down, leaving behind a breathtaking fiery sunset. It’s a moment I will forever hold in my heart.

Evenings in Paris have their own special allure, and the night is where the real magic begins! From a quiet candlelit dinner in the Latin Quarter, tasting the finest local specialties, to joining a spontaneous tango class where we got lost in the intoxicating rhythms and emotions. My trip was all about feeling truly alive, a vibrant dance of joy and exploration. Paris has this magical effect on you - it inspires creativity, feeds your wanderlust, and reminds you of the sheer beauty that life can offer.

Every corner of Paris breathes art. The city has been a muse to countless artists, composers and writers, each one finding their own unique story within its charming streets. Whether it's the Impressionistic beauty of Monet, the romantic charm of Gustave Eiffel’s creation, the architectural splendor of Notre-Dame, or even the sheer joy of strolling along the banks of the Seine. It’s no wonder this city draws hearts and dreams from around the globe. This is a place where dreams take flight and possibilities know no bounds.
