Bonjour from Paris, Mon Chérie! 💕 #PinkTutuBlogParis
Post Number 1277 - Saturday 15th June 2024
Oh, darling readers! It’s finally time for me to unveil the Parisian delights that have been consuming my thoughts for the past week. And just look at this divine pink tutu I've chosen to adorn for the occasion - a cloud of tulle with shimmering sequins that would make even the most hardened Parisian chic gasp with envy.
It's the morning after, if you will, and the magical whirlwind of Paris has left me positively glowing. From the cobbled streets of Montmartre to the magnificent opulence of the Palais Garnier, every corner I turned brought a new symphony of beauty and romance. And to think, it all began with a little train journey.
Now, you all know my adoration for the Eurostar, that glorious silver serpent that whisks me away from the quaint countryside of Derbyshire to the vibrant heart of Europe. With a cuppa and a croissant, the journey became a delightful little escape in itself. You see, there’s something about being in a moving carriage, surrounded by fellow travellers with wide eyes and wanderlusting hearts, that fills me with a profound sense of adventure.
Speaking of wanderlust, I simply must tell you all about my Parisian escapades! But first, let me indulge in a quick update on the tutu situation:
Pink Tutu Watch
You may recall from my last post that my aim was to encourage a global tutu movement – to spread the pink-hued joy of swirling skirts and joyous spins to every corner of the globe.
And oh my dear, what a glorious victory!
You see, dear readers, during my ballet performance at the Buxton Opera House last weekend, a group of schoolchildren, emboldened by my dazzling pink tutu and infectious enthusiasm, surprised me with their own adorable collection of bright pink tulle skirts. A small army of pink tutus, dancing and pirouetting amongst the crowd - what a sight! And to think it was all thanks to the power of pink. My heart swelled with a blend of pride and pink-tinted happiness.
A Whirlwind of Parisian Dreams
Alright, let's get back to Paris. I think it’s fair to say that this city was made for dreaming – a place where history, art, and fashion all weave together into a beautiful, whimsical tapestry.
My First Stop – Montmartre
First stop? Montmartre of course, with its iconic white-domed Sacré-Coeur Basilica perched high above the city, casting its radiant glow upon the twinkling lights of Paris below. We wandered up the hill, marveling at the narrow winding streets lined with charming boutiques and vibrant artists' studios, all whilst making sure to pick up a few fresh baguettes from a local bakery (I couldn’t resist a bit of bread-making folklore!). The air hummed with a creative energy, with the scent of freshly baked bread mingling with the soft sound of street performers strumming accordions.
Speaking of accordions…
The Magic of Music
Remember how I told you my trips are funded by ballet performances? Well, that night, we had the pleasure of seeing the magnificent Don Quixote performed by the Paris Opera Ballet at the beautiful Palais Garnier. As I sank into my velvet seat and the first note of the orchestra echoed through the magnificent auditorium, a shiver of excitement ran through me. Oh, the emotion! The powerful athleticism! The delicate, lyrical grace! Every dancer, every note, painted a picture of swirling love, captivating bravery, and breathtaking beauty.
But darling, it didn’t stop there!
Shopping Heaven
Oh, what joy I found browsing the elegant boutiques of the Marais! So many beautiful stores to discover – silk scarves adorned with delicate floral prints, shoes that seemed to dance across the floor, and, of course, tutus, darling.
In my search for the perfect tutu, I wandered through hidden Parisian corners, past charming antique shops and overflowing flower stalls, my eyes wide with delight. I was especially taken with a little boutique called Le Tutu Rose – what a dream! They had an entire room dedicated to tutus in every shade imaginable, from pastel peach to the deepest magenta.
I might have come home with more than just one, but you’ll just have to wait for next week's blog post to see my absolute favourites!
Beyond the City Lights
Paris is not just about glamorous boutiques and grand operas, though. It’s also about the little details – the café au lait sipped at a sidewalk café, the laughter echoing through a crowded market, the scent of lavender wafting from a nearby flower stall.
On a sunny afternoon, we ventured to the peaceful Jardin du Luxembourg, where families strolled under the leafy trees, children chasing pigeons, and lovers sharing intimate moments beneath the blooming wisteria. A symphony of serenity and gentle happiness - what could be more enchanting?
Time for a French Kiss!
Paris, darling, is the perfect recipe for a love affair. Every sight, every sound, every scent awakens a joyous twirl in my heart and inspires me to spread the magic of pink tutus far and wide.
It’s time for me to bid you adieu, my dears, but not without reminding you that pink tutus are the key to unlocking the world’s joyful secrets. Don't be afraid to twirl, darling!
Until next week!
Bisous,
Emma 💕
