Bonjour mes amis! Emma here, back from a whirlwind week in the City of Lights. It's amazing how Paris just sucks you in with its romance, its fashion, its stunning architecture, and its oh so chic vibe. And let's be honest, darling, nothing makes you feel like a Parisian princess than twirling in a pink tutu beneath the Eiffel Tower!
This week has been packed with tutus, shows, shopping, and simply soaking up the Parisian atmosphere. Let me tell you, the EuroStar journey was delightful - I always get a thrill from a high-speed train journey, and the chance to see the countryside whizz by from my comfy first-class seat was bliss. And to top it off, a fellow traveller recognised my gorgeous pink tutu and complimented my style! Turns out she was a ballet teacher, so of course we got chatting about pirouettes and pliés for the whole journey! That's the beauty of ballet – it really does connect you to people from all walks of life, across borders and even on a high-speed train!
The Fashion Fix!
First stop in Paris was, naturally, a trip to the Marais! I just love the eclectic mix of vintage and high-end fashion. This trip, I couldn’t resist picking up a stunning sequined pink top - perfect for a glamorous night at the opera – and a delicate lace shawl that just screams Paris chic. Of course, I snagged a few little tutu accessories as well – a gorgeous pearl-trimmed tutu-shaped clutch for a special occasion and a cute tutu keychain for my new Parisian handbag!
Showtime!
Speaking of the opera, we caught a breathtaking performance of "La Traviata" at the Palais Garnier. The sheer grandeur of the opera house, with its sweeping staircases and gold-gilded details, left me utterly speechless. It was an evening of exquisite music, beautiful costumes, and drama that kept me captivated for every minute! And don't even get me started on the fabulous after-show party with delicious French delicacies and lively chatter!
From Stage to Street!
I also made sure to take in some street theatre – you just never know what incredible talents you’ll stumble upon in Paris. A delightful mime artist dressed as a mime in a pink tutu, wow! That was just hilarious – she captured the beauty and joy of dance in the most unique way! It’s a wonderful reminder that ballet, fashion, and creativity can be found in the most unexpected places!
A Delicious Detour
One can’t talk about Paris without mentioning the delectable delights on offer. From steaming bowls of freshly made soup in quaint cafes to perfectly crafted pastries in elegant patisseries, Parisian cuisine is truly an art form. This trip, I treated myself to an authentic croque monsieur in a tiny bistro nestled in a back street – the cheesy, crispy goodness was divine!
Finding Pink Inspiration!
Of course, my favourite place to find Parisian inspiration is in the streets themselves. Whether it's a stylish boutique owner, a young woman dancing down the street in a flamboyant tutu, or even just a blooming flower in the park, Paris overflows with colours, patterns, and creativity! It's easy to see why so many artists have been drawn to its beauty over the years! Even the most mundane of objects in Paris somehow seems charming! Even the street signs in this city inspire me – a true delight! I love watching how Parisian girls mix patterns and styles with their pink!
Ending My Trip in Style!
So, that was my whirlwind weekend in Paris! As I left the station for my trip back to Derbyshire, my tutu, heart, and head overflowing with Paris charm, I knew that the city will forever hold a special place in my heart.
