Bonjour from the City of Lights, darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, reporting live from the very heart of Paris. It’s the festive season and, after weeks of exhilarating performances back in Derbyshire, I’ve traded the stage for cobblestones and am soaking up the magical atmosphere of this enchanting city.
I simply couldn’t resist a trip to Paris, especially this time of year. There's just something about the twinkle of the Christmas lights, the smell of crêpes wafting from street stalls, and the anticipation of all the festive delights awaiting around every corner that sets my heart aflutter!
I decided to arrive in style, naturally, with a delightful journey on the Eurostar. The sleek train whisked me away in a flurry of glamour and Parisian dreams. I felt so stylish, rocking my favourite pink tutu (because even travel days call for a bit of twirling, don’t you think?). It really set the tone for this incredible adventure!
Today, I've been embracing all things Parisian with gusto! It's been a whirlwind of pink-tutu-worthy moments. From a leisurely breakfast at a charming little patisserie on Rue Cler, to getting hopelessly lost in the labyrinthine halls of the Louvre – and then miraculously finding my way back out again, of course!
I've been especially enamoured with the street performances I’ve encountered. The streets are alive with music and dance, and there are countless artists and performers adding to the magical vibe. One particularly captivating performance was a trio of street dancers, all clad in swirling skirts, performing a piece that evoked a beautiful mix of flamenco and ballet. They left me wanting more!
Speaking of dancing, how could I come to Paris and not visit the ballet? This evening, I’m attending a performance of Giselle at the beautiful Opéra Garnier. It’s one of my favourite ballets, and I can’t wait to be swept away by the romantic and dramatic story and exquisite dancing. I’m already planning my perfect pink tutu outfit for the evening – I think I’ll pair it with a chic, Parisian-inspired black velvet bolero for a touch of elegant flair!
Now, no trip to Paris would be complete without indulging in some of the delicious cuisine this city is renowned for! I’ve already sampled my fair share of buttery croissants and macarons (don’t judge, they’re irresistible!), and I’m eagerly anticipating a Parisian picnic tomorrow at the Jardin du Luxembourg, where I’ll be enjoying a decadent feast of creamy cheeses, crusty bread and, of course, a chilled bottle of rosé.
I’ve even taken some time to delve into the world of Parisian fashion, darling! I must confess to some frivolous spending at one of the most incredible vintage boutiques on Rue Saint-Honoré. I found the most amazing, feather-trimmed bolero in the deepest shade of pink - it’s going straight into my collection, and I simply cannot wait to wear it!
For a change of pace, this evening I'll be joining my lovely aunt, who lives in Montmartre, for some delightful hot chocolate and homemade pastries at her quaint little flat. It'll be a welcome dose of warmth and Parisian charm after my busy day.
I have a feeling this Parisian adventure is just getting started! The next few days promise an array of delightful experiences - a day trip to Versailles to soak up the elegance and grandeur of the royal gardens, perhaps some impromptu shopping for beautiful French ribbons to adorn my ballet shoes, and an exploration of the Parisian catacombs (dare I even attempt a pirouette down there?). Who knows what delightful surprises await me in the city of romance and fashion!
Stay tuned for more Pink Tutu Parisian Adventures – I promise to be back next week with more photos and adventures from this magical city.
Remember, you can follow my adventures here on the blog www.pink-tutu.com every Saturday, and feel free to join me on my quest to spread pink tutu joy across the world!
Au revoir for now, and be sure to get your twirl on, my lovelies!
