Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post 1454 - Parisian Dreams Come True!

Bonjour mes chéries!

Well, here I am, back in Paris, the city that stole my heart the first time I stepped off the Eurostar (remember my adventures last year? Oh la la, the memories!). I always said I’d be back, and this time, it’s for longer – a whole month of Parisian delights, ballet performances, chic shopping, and oh, so many pastries.

My little pink heart is already beating faster than a barre combination, and that’s saying something! There’s something magical about Paris, the air feels lighter, the streets buzz with a vibrant energy, and the shops are…well, just take a peek at my Instagram later (@pinktutuemma) and see for yourself!

Today is Saturday 6th November 2027, a beautiful, crisp autumn day that has inspired a particular shade of pink I simply must find the perfect beret to match! (Don’t worry, I’ll share my find in a later post, but for now, imagine something chic yet sassy, maybe a touch of velvet?)

But let’s rewind a little…

The Journey

The Eurostar always feels like an exciting escape, especially when you’re a ballerina! I even packed my leotard (in the deepest, most Parisian shade of magenta, naturally) so I could have a good stretch before arriving at Gare du Nord. You can always spot the ballet girls on board – the graceful, elegant movements, the bags bursting with colourful shoes and ribbons, the hushed conversations about pirouettes and grand jetés – it’s a sisterhood!

Once in Paris, the air itself seemed to whisper about ballet – the rustling of leaves outside my hotel window sounding like the swoosh of tutus, the clattering of heels on the cobbles like the rhythmic tap of pointe shoes.

A Parisian Dance

My week is jam-packed with Parisian ballet adventures! First up, I'm going to see a performance of "La Sylphide" at the Opéra Garnier, a show I’ve dreamed of seeing since I first learned the steps as a little girl back in Derbyshire.

(Speaking of Derbyshire, I know some of you have asked me to write a post about the ballet scene there! So I'm thinking I'll do a “Pink Tutu Adventures” post on the Derbyshire ballet scene for next week, featuring my favourite local companies and studios.)

Back to Paris! I've already found a lovely café near the Opera house, with tables overlooking the Place de l'Opéra. They have the most incredible pain au chocolat - flakey, buttery perfection, it truly is the Parisian way of life.

The Power of Pink Tutus

Of course, it’s no surprise that I’ll be adding some Parisian flair to my wardrobe – I’ve already scoped out some gorgeous tutus in shops like “Le Petit Tutu Rose”, they have the most delicate designs. But as I told you in last week’s post, it’s not just about shopping, it's about spreading the pink tutu joy, reminding everyone of the magical power of twirling!

While wandering through the Tuileries Garden today, I met the sweetest young girl, barely 5 years old, her face full of wonder as she skipped between the flowers, completely enthralled by the beauty of Paris. And, well, you guessed it… she wanted to see my tutu.

I whipped out my trusty pink tutu (the one with the feather trim, just a touch of vintage glam) and, as I twirled around, her eyes lit up with excitement. It was a simple moment, but it reminded me of the power of a pink tutu – it makes people smile, it sparks joy, it encourages playfulness, it reminds everyone that sometimes, all you need is a little magic to brighten your day.

Let's Talk Fashion!

My mission this trip? To find the ultimate Parisian outfit. And I’m not talking just about finding a stunning new dress (although, my suitcase is already a bit full thanks to “La Boutique à Fleurs” - have you ever seen so many pretty fabrics in one place?!), it’s about the whole look!

Think berets, bold red lipstick (always with a touch of pink gloss on top, obviously), elegant scarves (with little floral details), vintage handbags (I already picked up a gorgeous navy one with a delicate golden chain at the Marché aux Puces… I know, amazing, right?!)

But above all, it's about that confident Parisian walk, a hint of mischief in your step, and the ability to embrace any situation with grace and charm (even if your bag strap gets caught on a cafe chair).

The Week Ahead

My Paris adventures are just starting. Tomorrow, I'm off to the famous Louvre Museum to get my art fix (think Mona Lisa and impressionist masterpieces!), followed by a lesson at a local ballet studio. You bet I'm going to post a picture or two on my Instagram story so you can all be there virtually.

The rest of the week will be packed with exploring new districts (maybe Montmartre with its artists and its café charm?), sampling the best pastries (ooh la la!), and perhaps even venturing outside of the city to see some beautiful French countryside…

But before I leave you to enjoy the magic of Paris from afar, a little question for all my pink tutu darlings:

What is your favourite part about Paris? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next Saturday, stay chic, stay positive, and never stop twirling!

Emma x
