This week, I'm pulling back the curtain on my Paris escapade, a trip that had me twirling through Parisian streets, shopping in chic boutiques, and dancing the night away in glittering theatres. Oh, and did I mention the delicious pastries? ?? But before we dive into the delicious details, let's rewind the clock to a sunny morning at St Pancras International…
Eurostar Dreams:
This time, I decided to swap the ballet stage for a sleek Eurostar carriage, whizzing through the English countryside and then gliding towards France at speeds that would make any ballerina envious! ???
The Eurostar is definitely a way to travel, you feel like a VIP in that plush, air-conditioned luxury. I even managed to catch a couple of cat naps and squeeze in a few practice plies whilst the scenery whizzed by – multitasking at its finest! ?
Parisian Elegance:
After a quick journey, I arrived at the Gare du Nord, my heart already pounding with excitement. My Parisian escapade had begun! ???
You all know my love for pink is as strong as my passion for pointe shoes, so imagine my delight when I spotted a little pink vintage Parisian carousel on the Champs-Elysees. ? This was just a hint of the magic waiting around every corner in this dazzling city.
The Louvre’s Star Attractions:
Stepping into the iconic Louvre Museum, I felt transported into the heart of art history. It was simply breath-taking! ?️ I felt like I was starring in my own Parisian ballet. The grand halls filled with incredible masterpieces, like the enigmatic Mona Lisa (a tad overdressed in my opinion, I much prefer the more minimalist looks of the Greek sculptures ?), just filled me with wonder.
Ballet Bonanza:
And what’s a Parisian adventure without a trip to the ballet? ?✨ My absolute highlight had to be seeing "The Sleeping Beauty" at the exquisite Palais Garnier. The spectacle was out of this world, from the exquisite costumes to the sheer technical brilliance of the dancers. It truly had me on the edge of my seat! I swear I heard a collective gasp from the audience at the grand finale.
I’m already counting down the days until I can experience another breathtaking performance in Paris.
Sweet Treats & Parisian Charm:
But of course, no Parisian escapade would be complete without indulging in the delicious cuisine! And my sweet tooth? Oh, it was completely spoilt by the exquisite pastries I discovered. From dainty macarons in every colour imaginable to delicate éclairs that simply melted in my mouth - I’m still dreaming of the exquisite flavour combinations!
I spent hours exploring the quaint, charming streets of Montmartre, getting hopelessly lost in the vibrant maze of streets lined with artisan shops and galleries.
My biggest highlight though? The charming local flower markets, a veritable feast for the senses. My little pink tutu definitely got lost amidst the vibrant floral colours. ? The Parisian Pink Tutu Movement:
During my Parisian jaunt, I've been spreading my love for pink tutus even more! Everywhere I went, I was on the lookout for people to encourage to embrace their inner pink tutu. And guess what? It’s been a huge success! ?
From a lovely baker, who gifted me a pink macaron just because I was wearing a tutu (and let me tell you, it was the most delectable pink macaron ever!), to a street performer who invited me to join him for a dance routine, Parisians are really embracing the joy of pink!
Weekend Wrap-up:
After an amazing, pink tutu-filled week, it's back to the Derbyshire countryside for me, full of inspiration, beautiful memories, and a whole lot of new ideas. I even managed to snag a few Parisian souvenirs and treasures along the way, which are waiting for their big reveal in the next post! ?
And of course, this won’t be the last time you see a pink tutu popping up in the streets of Paris. My goal remains the same: to bring a little more pink tutu magic into the world, one twirl at a time!
