Prague: Pink Tutu Travels - Post #12 (Wednesday, July 19, 1995)

Bonjour mes chéries! It’s Emma, your Pink Tutu traveller, back from the most fabulous jaunt to the heart of Europe.

I’m sitting here in my Parisian hotel room (the Ritz!), enjoying a pot of Earl Grey with a scone and clotted cream, and planning my next tutu-tastic escapade. As I’m penning this, the Eiffel Tower sparkles beyond my window, a beautiful beacon of romance and grandeur. But, as I’ve always said, life isn’t just about pretty views – it’s about adventures and, well, pink tutus, of course.

But enough about my luxurious life - let’s talk about my travels! You’ll never believe the incredible experience I just had in Prague. My love for all things dance and ballet led me to this captivating city, where I dove headfirst into a whirlwind of cultural delights.

From Derbyshire to Prague by Train (and Pony?)

You may be wondering how this girly-girl travelled all the way to Prague. Well, let me tell you, it was an adventure in itself! I started my journey with a grand trip from Derbyshire on the most glamorous Eurostar train. It felt like I was whisked away into a ballet scene - opulent velvet seats, breathtaking scenery flying past the window, and a touch of Parisian chic floating in the air. The sheer romance of it all!

Upon arriving in Prague, I discovered the most wonderful little guesthouse, tucked away in the charming old town. They had a pony waiting for me! Oh, it was just divine. I felt like I'd stepped into a fairytale, my little pink tutu flowing in the wind as I rode around cobbled streets, feeling like a ballerina princess.

*A Night at the Opera (and a Touch of Tutu History) *

The highlight of my Prague trip was undoubtedly my visit to the Estates Theatre. The sheer grandeur of this historical venue made me gasp! It was so elegant and opulent – think chandeliers and plush velvet seats. I felt like a character from a vintage opera, myself! But, let’s face it, I was already feeling that way in my pink tutu!

That night, I watched the most enchanting ballet performance, my heart beating in time with the music. I found myself enthralled by the history of this iconic theatre – Mozart himself performed here! That made me squeal with delight! I felt a sense of connection to history and art that filled me with joy.

And let’s not forget about my own tutu collection. I even stumbled upon a vintage shop where I discovered the most charming collection of antique tutus. Apparently, the tutu has a fascinating history, having its roots in 19th century ballet. Imagine all the stories those little fluffy garments could tell!

Exploring Prague's Enchanting Streets (and Shopping for Shoes)

During my Prague escapade, I did the usual tourist things - sightseeing at the famous Prague Castle and Prague Clock, marveling at the stunning architecture, and strolling through charming cobblestone streets.

One of my favourite moments was enjoying a steaming cup of Czech coffee in a little café on Old Town Square, watching the locals bustle around and admiring their distinct fashion. I even found some of the most adorable handmade wooden shoes for my collection – how fabulous is that! My feet are simply itching to wear them with my pink tutu!

And, of course, a ballet aficionado like myself couldn’t miss a chance to indulge in some fabulous shoe shopping! I found some gorgeous pointe shoes with a subtle touch of pink (no surprise, right?) which are perfect for the upcoming recital at the Derbyshire ballet academy.

Pink Tutu Inspiration in Every Corner

This Prague trip has filled me with new inspiration, ideas for my next tutu design and a million memories. My suitcase may be full, but my heart overflows with stories to share. Prague’s magic, history, and incredible ballet traditions have woven a beautiful tapestry into my soul.

I truly believe everyone can be a ballerina – with a little pink tutu magic, of course. Until next time, my dearest followers, I leave you with a special pink-tinted reminder: Don’t be afraid to dance to your own tune and express yourself freely!

Don't forget to join me every Wednesday on www.pink-tutu.com for more pink-tastic updates from around the world. I can't wait to share my next adventures with you all! Bisous!

Emma xoxo
