Prague, Prague, Pretty Prague! (Pink Tutu Prague Post #48)

Bonjour mes chéries! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu post. Today I'm bringing you all the delights of Prague, the "City of a Hundred Spires." I have to say, this city has lived up to its fairytale reputation! And darling, I can’t resist a little fairy tale magic – especially in the context of this beautiful, history-filled city!

So grab a cuppa and settle in, lovelies. It's time to paint the town pink… literally! 😉

Pink Tutus Take Prague

As always, the first thing on my agenda is a tutu tour! My journey began with a whimsical train ride. Now, darling, I know some of you wouldn't be caught dead on public transport, but I think train travel is the most glamorous way to get around! (Just remember, good posture is key to looking chic!)

Upon arrival in Prague, my jaw nearly hit the floor. This city is beautiful. Imagine charming cobbled streets lined with buildings boasting incredible architecture – a perfect mix of fairytale turrets and modern cafes. This is a city built for exploring, especially with a pink tutu!

My favourite discovery was the Old Town Square (charming name, I know!). Imagine it: a gorgeous clock tower that puts on a fabulous little show every hour with marching skeletons! Not to mention a bustling marketplace overflowing with delights – think handmade jewellery, Czech marionettes, and delicious local treats. It's the perfect spot to grab a selfie for Instagram! And wouldn't you know it, darling, my favourite shade of pink was all over the place. Pink flowers on stalls, pink sugar-coated candy…even the pink fluffy cotton candy – what more could a girl want?!

Dancing Under the Golden Roof

Of course, a ballerina's journey wouldn't be complete without seeing a show. And you can't get more magnificent than a ballet under the dazzling golden roof of the Prague National Theatre! This building itself is pure glamour, with majestic columns and beautiful architecture that will leave you breathless. I went to see the ballet Don Quixote, and darling, the talent! It was absolute perfection! The costumes, the choreography, the story…it truly left me with butterflies!

This truly magical night gave me a fresh appreciation for Czech artistry, but I must admit that, much to my surprise, the show lacked…PINK! Oh darling, perhaps I need to create my own ballet company? Pink Tutus Prague would be the name. Think sparkling pink tutus under the twinkling stage lights...I'd be in my element!

Shopping, Spires, and Sipping Svatý

Now, a girl's got to take care of herself! After the ballet, I took to the cobbled streets for some boutique-ing. Prague is a shopper's paradise, with shops and galleries galore. Imagine little independent shops overflowing with trinkets and Bohemian finds – perfect for adding some unique pieces to your wardrobe.

I snagged a stunning pink crystal necklace for myself and a cute pink bunny keychain for my little niece. And darling, this trip was made by the discovery of a little shop overflowing with exquisite pink satin ribbons. Can you imagine the tutus I'm going to be whipping up for myself?! My mind is swimming with ideas!

As evening drew in, I discovered one of Prague’s hidden gems: the Charles Bridge. This stone bridge crosses the Vltava River and is lined with statues that give it an almost ghostly air. It's one of the most romantic places in the city, especially at night. The lights twinkling off the river, the sound of street musicians playing gentle melodies – I was entranced! A perfect place to enjoy a glass of Czech Svatý, their famous white wine (pink, of course!), with my new sparkly necklace.

The Pink Tutu Code

What better place than this fairy-tale city to bring up my favourite topic - tutus! As I wandered the streets of Prague, I couldn't help but wonder what inspired the women here to dress up! Imagine my excitement when I found A Star’s Atelier, a delightful little dance shop tucked away on a quiet side street. The windows were decked out in pink tutus and dance shoes – it's basically a Pink Tutu wonderland! The owner told me how the ballet culture here is booming and, you won't believe this, there's even a ballet school specifically for pink-wearing ballet lovers! Now darling, isn't that amazing?!

While tutus may be common here in the city's ballet scene, I still haven't found my "Pink Tutu Twins" – but don't worry, I have my sights set on a ballet class next week!

And darling, this is where I invite you to help me spread the Pink Tutu love! Imagine yourself strutting through Prague's Old Town Square in a stunning pink tutu, with the city lights twinkling all around. You’d be a walking work of art! The key, my lovelies, is to embrace your inner confidence, channel your own sense of style, and never be afraid to stand out from the crowd! It's time to break free from the dull and dive into a world of whimsical flair!

Fashion Notes

Today’s look was all about Prague elegance! I went for a classic, yet dramatic, silhouette: a fitted, ivory-white corset-style top, paired with a floor-length pink tulle skirt that was so airy and floaty, it made me feel like a ballerina dancing in the clouds. I finished it off with a sparkly pink headband (perfect for a little twirl in the sunshine) and a chic pink purse just big enough to carry the essentials – lipstick, phone, and a secret stash of pink candy!

On My List for Prague

Now, here are the essentials on my list for the rest of my stay here:

  • The Pink Tutus Ballet class at The Czech Dance Conservatory. My first ballet class of the trip, and it’s gonna be pink-tastic!
  • A traditional Czech lunch at the U Medvidku tavern, in a little corner tucked away down a side street – they do the most delicious roasted pork knees!
  • An afternoon of vintage shopping at Antique Shops Square– darling, I bet there are some unique tutus hidden away there!

Until next time, darlings! Stay beautiful, stay inspired, and stay…pink.
