Pink Tutu Prague: A Dance Through Time (Post #51)

Bonjour mes amis!

This week, your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger has arrived in the magical city of Prague! Yes, I'm here, nestled amongst cobblestone streets, Baroque architecture, and, of course, plenty of shops for my tutu-loving heart to adore.

This trip has been a long time coming. Prague is a city that's always been on my bucket list, its history steeped in artistic grandeur, its culture a fascinating blend of tradition and modernity. I was particularly drawn to its strong connection to ballet; did you know that Prague's ballet tradition stretches back to the 18th century? That's a pretty impressive history for a tutu enthusiast!

I journeyed to Prague in true ballerina style – a delightful train ride, with a change at Vienna, the city of waltzes and Strauss, followed by a lovely pony-drawn carriage to my hotel! Yes, I am definitely embracing the European charm of this trip, my darlings.

Speaking of charm, Prague itself is a delightful sight. Walking through its historic streets, past towering cathedrals and charming squares, you can't help but feel transported to a bygone era, when elaborate costumes and courtly manners reigned. And you can't deny, there's something truly magical about the air in Prague.

Today, however, was a day devoted to the reason for my travels - a beautiful performance by the National Theatre Ballet! The venue is stunning – think ornate ceilings, grand chandeliers, plush velvet seating, a real sense of theatre history! I felt myself transported back in time as I took in the majestic interior and whispered "Ooh la la!" to myself - a fitting sound, don't you think?

As I took my seat, the excited murmurs of the audience lulled me into a state of anticipatory bliss. The lights dimmed, the curtain rose, and the dancers gracefully glided onto the stage, their movements fluid and expressive. Oh, how I yearn to dance alongside them! The performance itself was nothing short of captivating – a stunning interpretation of "Don Quixote," a classic that always tugs at my heartstrings with its playful spirit and energetic storytelling. I found myself completely mesmerized, my attention drawn not just to the elegant steps and the masterful technique but also to the costumes – simply divine!

Of course, a trip to Prague wouldn't be complete without indulging in a little fashion-fueled shopping. I've already explored the beautiful boutiques along the charming, cobbled streets and discovered some fabulous shops overflowing with exquisite and intricate pieces.

Naturally, I have been on the lookout for a few pieces for my own personal collection! I just had to have a delicate embroidered top in the most divine shade of pale pink (because what's a pink tutu blog without pink clothes, right?), a pair of lace-trimmed stockings, and some sparkling ballet flats. The colours are just incredible here! All those shades of lilac, lavender, peach... sigh, pure perfection!

And of course, my adventures aren't complete without mentioning my newest discovery: a hidden gem tucked away on a narrow street – a shop that specializes in handmade ballet tutus! They've got everything from classic to modern styles, each tutu meticulously crafted with attention to detail, and it even boasts the most stunning array of vibrant pinks imaginable! Imagine, my lovelies, pink so bright and bold, it would make a rose blush! The colours here, just beautiful. This is what dreams are made of.

Of course, a visit to this magnificent shop wasn't possible without indulging in a couple of my absolute favourite things - pastries, coffee and…a delicious ice cream sundae with a little dollop of whipped cream! Oh my goodness, I felt like a princess. Don’t you know a princess can't resist a delightful treat or two? This beautiful city of Prague has it all!

Tonight, I am dreaming of dancing the night away at the Old Town Square, a magnificent spectacle of beauty under the starlit sky, which apparently boasts stunning illuminations during the "Magic Prague" festival! Maybe a waltz, a polka, perhaps even a jig - all while wearing my most fabulous pink tutu! Don’t forget to follow me on my social channels to see what I wear for tonight’s revelry!

My time in Prague has only just begun, and I already know it's going to be a truly unforgettable experience. From discovering hidden architectural gems to shopping for beautiful fashion finds and, of course, watching the beautiful dancers perform on the stages, there is no doubt I’ll have an enchanting journey in Prague.

Do make sure you tune in next week for the next installment of my Prague Adventures! In the meantime, take care and be sure to sprinkle some sparkle into your week!

Au revoir mes amis!

Yours truly, Emma,

The Pink Tutu Blogger.
