Prague in Pink: #101

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, writing to you live from the charming, cobbled streets of Prague, the city of a hundred spires!

This week, it's all about pink, about tutus and, of course, ballet. I'm on a mission, you see, to spread the joy of dance and the magic of pink across the world, one twirl at a time! And what better way to do that than with a visit to this stunning city?

A Ballet Journey

Prague has a long and illustrious history of ballet, dating back to the 16th century. From the grand stages of the Estates Theatre to the intimate spaces of smaller venues, ballet has been a constant source of inspiration and delight in this city. I was, of course, thrilled to catch a performance at the National Theatre. Imagine my excitement when I learned about *the magical ballet show “The Sleeping Beauty” by Tchaikovsky. *It was a true treat, and the dancers, oh my! The grace, the artistry, the sheer elegance of their movements – it was mesmerising.

After the performance, I felt inspired. The entire atmosphere was buzzing with the magic of the show and the love for the art form. The air hummed with the sweet sounds of music. I couldn’t resist purchasing a beautiful tutu to match the occasion. It was a vibrant, candy pink, just my style, adorned with intricate details that reminded me of the flowers and fantastical creatures of the story. It felt fitting to pay tribute to the beauty I'd witnessed on stage, don't you think?

Prague by Train & Pony

Let's talk travel! I reached Prague by train, of course, because who doesn’t love the romance of a long train journey? Especially when the train passes through landscapes of such exquisite beauty, the views from the window taking me right back to those old stories of fairytales and enchanting journeys. A hot chocolate with whipped cream and a charming view – can't be beaten, can it?

After the performance, I took a lovely horse-drawn carriage ride through the cobbled streets, my new tutu twirling around me. It's incredible how horses understand and love people. They just make me happy. You can always tell, I’m truly in my element when I’m around them.

The horse’s gait was gentle and measured. The hooves clicked against the cobblestones with a sweet melody as I took in the scenery. Old world charm, with pastel-colored houses, twinkling lights and a sky filled with stars – what a magical experience!

Prague Style

Now, we can’t talk about Prague without acknowledging its captivating style. The architecture is just breathtaking, a blend of medieval and baroque influences, with its colourful, charming streets lined with cute boutiques. You just have to see this to believe it! It’s impossible not to get swept up in the city's romance, in the whispers of its history and the timeless beauty that flows through every corner.

Oh, and did I tell you about the pink tutu I found? It was tucked away in a hidden little shop filled with treasures and curiosities, a complete surprise! Imagine my joy - a perfect blush-pink, with a swirl of feathers. It's simply divine, don’t you think? I knew immediately it was destined for Prague and would add that little extra magic to my trip. It was practically begging me to take it home, twirl with it on the cobblestones and post it on www.pink-tutu.com. I had to indulge myself!

Tutu Treats

Speaking of shopping, one of the absolute highlights of any trip for me is finding little vintage shops with a quirky, bohemian style. There's something about finding old pieces of clothing, discovering a hidden gem - it’s truly rewarding.

In a small boutique hidden behind a cascading display of blooming lilacs, I found a beautiful, faded velvet bag, the perfect place to store my collection of treasured tutus! I couldn’t leave Prague without a few treats, and found a gorgeous silk scarf in shades of rose and peach. It felt so sophisticated, just the kind of elegant piece that embodies the style of Prague, a blend of charm and sophisticated elegance. I think it would look divine worn with my pink tutu, perhaps as a lovely accessory to a graceful performance on the streets of the old town. What do you think, lovelies?

Ballet in the Streets

You see, Prague has become an unlikely hub for street performance. It seems everyone here embraces a bit of artistry and whimsy in their lives. I was so surprised to stumble across a street performance dedicated to ballet – in the middle of the city! There was a group of dancers performing in a plaza, and everyone, even the pigeons seemed captivated by their every move!

The passion and grace they displayed was breathtaking, and the beauty of their tutus and costumes was captivating. The entire plaza was a flurry of color and music. I actually ended up joining them for a little impromptu dance session - a true display of pink power, don't you think? The crowd was so appreciative of the beauty and the artistry that day. Even a dog joined in!

It really struck me how the art of ballet unites people, how it brings a community together in appreciation of its grace and artistry, and it really made me understand what it means to be truly connected to an art form, to share the beauty with the world and share those experiences together.

The Magic of Pink

Let me tell you, darling, Prague has left an indelible mark on my heart! The vibrant architecture, the magical stories and the echoes of ballet – everything is an inspiration to me.

I want to leave you with this thought. We can find a bit of pink tutu magic in every place we travel! From the enchanting fairytale landscapes of Prague, to the cobbled streets where we can share a moment with a magical dance, we can find that spark of joy, of color and of artistry wherever we go.

And you know, lovelies, that's exactly what I’m doing. I'm spreading a touch of pink magic everywhere I go, inspiring a little dance in everyone I meet. And maybe, just maybe, you'll catch a glimpse of it, too! Don't forget to pop over to www.pink-tutu.com, to see more photos and hear more tales from Prague!

Until next week, dear readers!

Yours in pink and tutus,

Emma.
